Giving people weapons doesn't help those displaced kieth. It prolongs the conflict and as such, its just as easily argued that it results in more deaths.

Russia was invited in to Syria to clear up the mess that America had started, the same old tactic of formenting a revolution, overthrowing the government, and if that doesn't pan out, arm and fund insurgent forces, all documented and well known.
The chemical bombs claim was bollox, the White Helmets was a total fraud who made up the bogus claims, barrel bombs, I don't know. What I do know is that America smashed the f4ck out of the Middle East with their 'freedom' ordinance like the MOAB (Mother of all Bombs) or their rather liberal sprinklings of Dupleted Uranium leading to thousands and thousands of birth defects/deformaties, cancers and mass death, millions of displaced people's, obliterated towns and cities, 1.5million plus that died in Iraq as a direct result of bringing 'democracy' to Iraq, and what about the 1million plus kids that died in Iraq with the ultra restrictive sanctions placed on the country?
It's estimated that Starlin was responsible for between 20 to 50million people dieing, if we're going to make comparisons, with Putin's death count, I think he'll need a few milenia to come anywhere close. I won't claim that Putin is Gandhi, and that he has larks twittering his name in the hedgerows, he certainly wealds an iron fist, but there is no way on this earth that you can even remotely make a comparison to Starlin. Starlin was a paranoid, sadistic megalomaniac who killed off every member of his family, he was a proper nutter, that ain't Putin I'm afraid.

Welp, this could be the begging of the end. Russia retaliates with cutting off gas supplies, Europe starts to go belly up, then starts firing missiles at Russia and all hell breaks loose. Not one sensible voice in the room calling for calm and to cool down, nope.
The thing in all of this is that it's the little people that suffer, those making the decisions are insulated from the fallout, us on the other hand, not so much. Just because they couldn't help poking Russia.
