No government in any country is likely to pay out any compensation within 10 days of announcing it, Its a bit like what the self employed are getting or going to get in the U.K. surely you carn't of lost that much money in the last 10 days since closure.

Dont forget the U.K. is still in the European union until the 31st December so E.U law should really be applicable,

I was not making any issue or point about how much I have lost I was merely clarifying the situation regarding support here in France.

Surely lots of commercial fisheries have stocking levels that are entirely dependent on the fact that there are anglers chucking vast quantities of quality bait in every day of the year.
I wonder how weights and general fish health will be impacted by the various lockdowns home and abroad as the weeks pass. Sure they can feed the fish, but with no revenues coming in, I doubt many fishery owners will be able to afford to make up for the lack of bait going in.

Good point Jon however when you consider that the carp stock of many lakes are their single biggest asset it would make sense to ensure they are kept well fed.

That's very interesting , I think if you haven't received something through no fault of your own .i.e. the current situation , you should be reimbursed 100% , no questions asked .
The lack of refunds offered or not offered by French fisheries during these times will be remembered no doubt

Possibly on some venues but I think a lot don“t depend on vast quantities of bait being introduced. When I started my venue many years ago and not having that many anglers in the early days, I used to feed pellet and as years passed, most anglers used about 10kg of boilies a week (advised maximum allowed), 10 anglers x 10kgs, the equivalent of 100kgs, the cost of 100kgs of pellet is not that much really.

It's also through no fault of the fishery, so the sensible outcome is to have the week rearranged at no extra cost

Many of the best fisheries in france are booked at least 2 to 3 years in advance. Not sure i would be keen on someone holding on to my heard earned for 3 years in advance.
It's tricky, but l feel the biggest problem is the 50% deposit in advance. It would make sense that if your booking is at least18 months in advance to take a nominal fee to hold the place, which is then deducted from when the deposit is due. If deposit not paid, place is lost. Doesn't help much at the moment, tho.

That's also a myth. I only know of a couple of fisheries that are full in 2022, most have plenty of availability for 2021 and 2022

People are bitching over an "Act of God" ffs if losing a weeks fishing booking was the least of my worries I would snap your hand off! Construction in the UK will be on its knees in the next few months all these insolvent BIG major construction companies now have the perfect answer to fold which will filter throughout the supply chain Massive loss of jobs trust me, lets have the same conversation in 3 months and see where we at but to imply that you should be refunded come on NO one is to blame here its out of all our hands! we all should be insured end off!
Are you sure?
