I have to agree with your comment about Boris, he is definitely not the best person to be PM right now, for the stick he gets, I'd definitely take Starmer over Boris on situations like this

Meaning NATO will look at the long game in this conflict. Putin's people won't follow him forever, Zelensky's will.
They can stand by and watch Putin's hordes bled dry, financially and increasingly likely militarily.
Ratcheting up weapons supply and sanctions as and when they're prudent and most damaging for Putin.
Not so great for the Ukrainians short term unfortunately, but war is a callous business.
Meaning NATO will look at the long game in this conflict. Putin's people won't follow him forever, Zelensky's will.

Mal, we have actually helped more than any other nation in real terms – if Britain had not realised what was on the horizon and got British Troops into Ukraine training and then supplying the Ukrainian Army with the latest “Fire and forget” hand held anti-tank and anti aircraft Missiles, the vast majority of those refugees would not be refugee's - they would be dead or under Putin's boot in less than 48hours from it starting.

All those countries border Ukraine so the figures will be high. They are being well looked after in those countries, they speak a similar language, so they have no reason to trek all the way across the EU to come to the UK, that would be stupid.
All those that have families in this country that wish to come will be accepted once all the visas and biometrics (to stop Russians coming in) have been sorted.
We cannot keep accepting every waif and stray just because some bleading heart liberals keep blarting. We have very little room as it is. This country is providing more than enough in financial aid for the crisis.
If you think what we are doing isn't sufficient then get off your arse and go and help instead of continually stabbing the country that has given you all that you have, in the back!!

Without those weapons being in place before Putin invaded Ocelot it would have been a “Turkey Shoot” for the Russians.
Making a case like that in circumstances when you're dealing with someone who thinks they are a modern “Hitler” is utterly irrelevant, Putin could not give a toss is every civilian was dead as long as there not Russian.
You're not dealing with the same mind set as the liberal pussy footing around West has, go look up Katyn Massacre, that was under Stalin's instruction (Putin MK1)

Had a chat today with a fair few Eastern Euopean chaps and an African bloke who out of the blue asked me what I thought of the whole situation, I basically laid out what I've said here, you know what, not one of them disagreed, and all of them to a man said they blamed the Americans. Two of the blokes actually lived through the Soviet era in Soviet block countries too would you know.

I know it would have been mate. I totally agree with sending any lethal and non lethal aid the Ukrainians need. With escalation comes responsibility in my book. So I'd like to see more done to get the innocents to safety, us actively taking our share. Not sending people away cause they've not got the correct form etc. So that those that chose to stay can fight knowing their loved ones are safe and well in a permanent place til they can return home.

There not claims Terry – just go and look at the past and recent actions of the Russian Military under Putin E.g. Syria- Barrel Bombing, Chemical Weapons, Barometric Ordinance etc....... all dropped on Civilians, or was the videos and high witness reports fake?
