I tried the double sided Velcro tape, it worked for 2/3 sessions then just fell apart
long term shortern the poles or the fix which I have described will be better I think

What do you mean fall part, did it actually snap/break or just the Velcro wouldn't hold together or something else?
If it wouldn't hold that's surprising 'cos the idea of the fix is that there's not excessive strain

There's 200 posts on here, to save trawling I was thinking of the Tempest, but I like the peak on the Bloxx, not to mention the price lol, so in a nutshell are these any good? Something about being to short on the front, and Velcro issues, where abouts is the problem? Also I've heard JRC have discontinued them!

Yes I found the front to be a bit short was ok If the swim was nice and flat but not so great if the swim slopes of at one end or was slightly uneven . Their talking about the Velcro straps on the top for the tensioning the peak the peak on mine was fine never had any problems the 2 x Velcro straps dim g undone and also they are discontinuing the current they model as they are releasing a newer updated model which has a fitted skull cap

I did consider waiting but bought the original new for £148 as my guess is the Mark2 will be initially be much more. I'll be mightily pissed if it's not

I've found an offer of £300 with wrap, not sure if it's a bargain, I would like the wrap as sometimes need extra space. Is the main block anodized alli or a plastic composite?

£300 doesn't sound anything special. My bivvy was £!48 from TFT with a discount 10% code so at £300 the wrap is more expensive than the bivvy!
I'd wait until Black Friday which is also around the time of your show
Oh and from what I can gather the wrap doesn't give hardly any extra room.

Yeah hunting around £300 isn't very good! Tackle UK have it for £165 as well, TFT are offering an extra 20% off with code!! So the wrap doesn't give much more frontage, I guess it'll sort out the condensation and help in the colder months.

So the skull cap is similar to the one's used on the tfg bivvies, just sticks out the front more! And yes £400

Do these skull caps make much difference on any type of bivvy?
Can understand a full wrap working but there doesn't seem enough coverage on a cap to make a difference?
