Using mine as I write this:
Bad bits: handles....that's it!
Good bits: super smooth
Perfect line lay
Quick drag is less than 1/4 turn
Strong construction
I got rid of my shimano long casts for them and I won't b swapping back that's for sure probly half the weight and still smashing it 150 yards with 15lb floro on!!
These are the cheapest reels I've brought ever and so far the best not sure how they will wear but time will tell.

To get them to fold flat to pack away u have to undo pretty much the hole thread and the handles could have been done bit bigger but that's my opinion,yeah they can be changed seen a set with wooden shimano handles with the quick fold.

No shimano handles fold like daiwas..
Most daiwa handles will fit. Unless you already have some ss3000's it will set you back £270 for 3 handles to put on £300 worth of reels.

Just thought i'd post these pics up for people that may have been curious to know what the insides are like. I was giving my reels a good going over and decided i would strip them to see what the inside quality is like, and i must say that although they do quite simple, everything looks and feels spot on. No cheap nastiness it seems.
The drive gear looks to be made from titanium, the pinion gear made from brass, didn't go as far as taking out the oscillation gear, but it seems ok from what i could see. Worm shaft etc seems to be solid, bearings good quality. All in all they seem to be made to quite a high standard and hopefully longevity won't be an issue as this was the main thing on people's mind.
One thing to note for people that may carry out their own service procedures is that the nut that retains the bail assembley is left hand thread.
