So groups of youngsters ignoring any form of social distancing are nothing to do with the rise? People with no symptoms using tests for no reason are nothing to do with the lack of test availability? It's time we stood up, took some responsibility and applied some common bloody sence instead of trying to pick holes and find loop holes in every bit of guidance/advice. Never been so ashamed to be British as I am at the moment

Simple answer is you can't stay locked down forever. All the time you mingle you can spread a virus. We will have to learn to live with it and get on with life. Eventually, through herd immunity, we can return to normal. Pointless waiting for a vaccine or cure that my never evolve. Come out from behind your sofa, get back to normal.

Been back from limoges 2 wks ago now so at the end of my quarantine. Not once have I been checked, called or texted by said authorities, nor was we checked by UK border force at dover. This country does not have the resources needed for any sustained amount of checks needed to check people are complying.

Just under 10,000 new covid cases in France today...... There's a map showing the worst spots as well.

Exactly.
I don't understand why we want to live in a USSR like state where people WANT their personal details looked over at the Border, and WANT people in uniforms come to your house to check you're indoors.
Just do the form. If someone tests positive on the flight/ferry, you'll want to know....

"I don't know this as fact but my guess is if you've done an online form then they know and so there's a good chance they won't ask to see it at border control."
Sadly, they don't know. It's a brand new separate entity in it's own right and isn't linked to any system, so no-one on the Border will know if you haven't filled it in unless asked.

came back from France on Saturday, (8 of us) we all completed the on line forms, not one of us was asked for it at the border.
one of the lads asked about the form and the lady responded "we have no power to ask to see evidence of completion and we don't bother asking anymore"
since then, one of us had a phonecall from the track n trace.

I did mate...
Not one of us was asked to produce the form details, sent via PDF we had at the return border in France. They simply wasn't bothered. So by following the rules, we have put a red mark on our heads.
