This is what she says
Test areas need to be covid secure.
A room is designated that has adequate ventilation.. Poles, barriers and PPE already exist. After each student leaves anything used such as desks/chairs are wiped down.
People need to be trained or the tests will be invalid.
A days training has been organised
Schools need to give over a 'large ventilated space ' which they need to find out of nowhere.
Not a problem, Just get on with it.
Child protection laws necessitate that adults on site must be dbs checked.
They are already. They don't think they'll need to bring in people from outside the school.
She added this is a war on covid, in wars everyone has to do their bit , you don't win by throwing in the towel and say its too difficult

#i think that the truth of it all will likely fall between my rant and Mrs Tinhead's pragmatism - what is doable in one school will be very problematic in another. and of course we will 'get on with' whatever we can - it's what teachers do.
There's no way I'm going to argue with your good lady as she deserves nothing but respect for putting up with you on a daily basis.

Yes, they appear to be absolutely livid with Macron for shutting their border in an act of Brexit spite! Shame they weren't so quick in 1940!

Where's your hippy values, I would've thought you'd approve of not the spreading the virus.
I say let them go back into their own countries and spread Covid , get their infections rates up to deflect from our own

My dad was a lorry driver so my sympathies lie with the individuals in the cabs. And there will be as many British lads in that car park as EU. The only difference is that the Brits get paid by the hour where the EU lads get paid by the mile so you can understand one set of drivers being more frustrated.
It's yet another example of boris and his bus. From standing in front of it plastered in lies to now throwing another set of workers under it...

Although I reckon all these drivers crossing the channel should have had a test to start with.
Not that it'll help.. I'm in tier 4 London as you know, the local supermarket, and I mean a SUPERmarket.. is absolutely full with a couple of random parking spots. There's snotty noses hanging over stained old single use surgical masks, grubby little kids rummaging through all the food on the shelves, the man dem who ain't wearing no mask, licking fingers to open carrier bags and touching the same spot of the screen as everyone else.. it's all here

But...
I think the response has been appalling and it's becoming the norm now for a government who appear to be sponsored by lastminute.com
I take on board what you have said often about uncharted territory and all, but the response is getting poorer rather than better and this has undermined any government decision going forward. It's a mess and I have no faith in this lot to actually protect people anymore. It's easy to blame Macron for the border closure, but if this virus variant is so much more contagious then OUR government should have imposed travel bans for the safety of others.
The mantra of following the science - that at least made some sense - has been replaced by weak attempts at popularity seeking, passing off responsibility and disjointed and contradictory policy.
