Found the opposite when there last week fishing Du Der. French supermarkets, local fuel stations, decathlon etc.. very strict and whilst we wasn't questioned as we was masked up there was someone checking at all places.

Most likely , like in the uk some over there think they aren't included in it. dick heads.

I got back from France yesterday .
There are absolutely no restrictions form the U.K. or France to stop you going .
At the service stations and supermarket I stopped at everyone was wearing masks and I got the feeling if you didn't you would have been told too .
On Thursday , Friday and Saturday night you can hear the French problem .. The youth who think ( and mostly are ! ) they are invincible are out partying .
On my return to the U.K. I was not asked for nor did I show a locator form .
There were lots of other anglers at the Tunnel both ways .
Basically evryone has to got accept that this ( the virus ) is not going to disappear anytime soon . If you want to go to France and fish then you have to accept that things have changed and will probably stay changed a long time . Get used to no travel insurance , country restrictions being imposed and lifted literally overnight, and a degree of chaos in everything .
What's gone on and the restrictions imposed has not stopped me going a few times to France and the only thing that will stop my other three trips I have booked this year will be if France or U.K. goes back to a nationwide lockdown.
The new normal is here for a while and life goes on .. Live it ..

Had you already done an online form?
If the answer was yes then there's no need to show a form it's already on record.
When I came back from France in July there were no restrictions in place but border control did have a friendly chat with us casually asking us where we all lived. we answered Basingstoke, Lincoln and London. He never asked for forms (we done them online) but I reckon he was just double checking us as our locations were a little unusual as most people travelling together tend to be more local

I think that was more casual chit chat then for any tracking reasons. BF don't give a toss about Brits returning from anywhere as they should already know the sp.

At the airports, if they checked everyone, the queues would be back onto the plane, especially if you had a couple of flights where English wasn't the first language and all were on visas that require checking. I think due to seeing the queues that were occuring, they changed it from 100% checks to 1 in 10 rather quickly, hence why many don't get checked.

The point I was trying to make is if you do your form online they won't ask to see it at the border.

They should be, because many don't fill it in.

I was asked for my form on the way back from France. I just showed him the confirmation email on my phone and that was that.

Just got back from France.

I filled my form online and was not asked for any confirmation, Which I believe they should be asking for.

Maybe they check when they have your passport, I dont know. But the email you get when you complete the form has a QR code on it which I have read they should be scanning

France did up to nearly 9k over the weekend....

Numbers are going up in the UK and in Europe but deaths and hospitalisations don't (so far) appear to be rising rapidly. On the news last night they confirmed that in the UK at least the majority of new cases are in younger people (<50yo) so the chances of needing intensive care are massively reduced.

Is this the new normal until a vaccine is available? Who knows..

I'm reading that you have to fill in forms to go to France where do I get them from and do I have to have a Covid test before I go?

unless there is something different for uk citizens (which I doubt) you dont have to fill anything or do any test when going...
