These reels are seriously making me considering moving away from baitrunners for my main rods for the first time ever....
They seem such bargains and with decent features. I'm not normally a "go for looks" man but they do look damn nice.

Put your new line on the spool first, then top the spool up with backing, then transfer to another spool, that way the backing will now be 'under' the new line.

Hi, for line capacity try this:-

Supposed to be OK. Seems OK when Iv'e used it.
You can covert cap from one dia to another.
Or bit trickier, amount of say 200m mainline , say 0.32, plus how much 0.35 backing line required.
Say 50m of backing , i just strip that off i bulk spool onto the floor (keep moving a bit), then wind on reel. Then just spool on your mainline off bulk spool. I use armspan (168cm for me, so about 30 strips) when stripping on floor. Be unlucky to be 1m out or 4m on 200m, normally better.

ps justed spooled up 3 Shimano's week back, used them 2 days back, no twist etc etc, bang on. Did them just reeling off spool , spool revolving, as in Shimano recommendation. Did some last year coming off end of spool, matching rotation of reel spool, kept checking for springing off, turn spool over etc etc. At least for mne that didn't work anywhere as good as above.
I measure dia of line with Vernier gauge (pick one up for say £8), not often as manufacturer quotes, i find.

When I spooled up my reels one of has loaded the line towards the back of the spool to much. Is there anyway to stop this happening? I can't see any little plastic washers to take off.

Add a washer to bring the spool forwards
Another thing to try is to start loading line while the spool is in its lowest position, this will ensure line goes on at the front first. I didn't have any issues when i bought my 8000lc affinity's, these was spooled up with no washers under the spool but i started loading with the line going on at the bottom first, so spool fully forward. This gave me a perfectly even line lay even though the spools are forward taper

I think if i add a washer it will make it worse as its building up at the back. My other 7000 ltd spooled up beautifully

You are correct, ignore my previous
Do try the other option though and spool up with the spool starting at its lowest position and attach the line to the spool at the very top.
