To be honest I had never heard of the venue, it wasn't around in my early days of carp fishing i.e. 60's and 70's, anybody know when it first opened?

Thanks, had a 2nd look at the website and found the info I was looking for i.e. lake 1st stocked in 2003 and opened to anglers in 2005, no wonder I hadn't heard of it in my good old days.

I'm with you. Apart from physical fitness and some very basic skill in a pre booked swim where is the challenge in catching those fish. Sorry, for me, catching not angling.
Just number crunching. Genuinely leaves me cold. No way I could summon the motivation.

I was a member of the syndicate for a year. This was over 10 years ago. I caught some pretty fish, but nothing huge. Always knew it was going to become a big fish water. The investment, the stock and the bait that was going in. I couldn't justify keeping the ticket and I know it went up and up and up. I don't know what people pay now. However it is an awesome venue, might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's extremely well run. I was told when I left I could rejoin without any issues. I'm sure that's been forgotten about!! I doubt I'd ever go back, unless the wife kicked me out.
