Are there any fox Frontier users on the forum, I would be very interested in the views of someone with actual first hand experience, preferably of there use over a reasonable time. I know they are relatively new but there must be someone who's used them in all weathers, particularly interested if there has been any give in the plastic joints over time.

There is one thread where forum member zinno I think it is really rates it.He posted loads of images but then did have an issue with stitching

Yeah he really rated it and his mates were all selling their tempests and titans , then he actually used it and had problems

Yep and ordered a new one

Still happy with it, top bivvy lots of space, stable, good height, windows open from the inside.

I clearly see a difference between my first Frontier Xd and the new Xd I got, my first had obvious factory errors, Fox told me they received 1 bad batch.
(Seams were not all sewn at the peg points and my first had no iron rings on the ventilation attachment points)


Things I would like.
-Full windowed overwrap, come on Fox how do you manage to make an overwrap without the 4 windows option
-Social cap option

Are you looking for a mobile light easy to transport bivvy you should look further, my Frontier xd is very quick to set up and take down but weighs a bit and the transport bag is 165cm
The X is more compact but you immediately lose 25cm height


if weight and transport length do not matter, the Xd is 100% recommended you will not find another 1 man bivvy with this height and space inside for such a compact outer size


But I think I'm going to sell mine, i can put my Trakker oval bed and my son's Rm junior bed in it, but then the Xd is actually just too small, that's why I'm looking for a small 2 man bivvy (Aqua duo m3 or Armo V4) but maybe i'll just keep my Xd after all because it is a very nice and good bivvy to sit in.

Correct not fully sewn in on 2 places, clearly a manufacturing error and fixed by Fox within 10 days with a new XD

I was commenting on your experience with it, so if it's bs then it's bs from you! You were raving about how excellent it was and rubbished anyone's warnings about qc of fox shelters, and low and behold yours was faulty. You were saying how great it was without using it so you were commenting without experience. Stop being a hypocrite

Dude it was great I had one with a manufacturing defect get over it (i did that too), the one I saw at Fox was also different from the one I got delivered, got a new one in 10 days so what's the problem?

I've got the X and am very pleased with mine. I haven't got much experience of other bivvies to compare it to but mine seems to be well made. Haven't used it in torrential rain yet but it's been through a few heavy showers etc and no sign of leaking. Goes up really quickly and pegs, groudsheet etc all seem to be decent quality. Would have liked a slightly bigger bag just to make packing it away a bit easier, it does all fit just have to take your time and fold it neatly.
Plastic joints all seem solid on mine but probably only used it half a dozen times
Overall I'd definitely recommend it.
