Just wanted to know if any EU based anglers have had any luck buying stuff from UK suppliers since the new year and the changes it brought.
I noticed John Baker saying he'd sent flavours abroad without trouble. This is good news, as I really rate his stuff and use them regularly, and I stocked up last year to avoid problems.
Has anyone received stuff from JB, Catchit Labs or similar? Do flavours get through ok? Is anyone still shipping ingredients without problems despite the new regs?
Generally speaking, is anyone still buying British bait without any grief, despite the worrying headlines that suggest it's impossible?
Thanks

All depends on custums&shipping provider... Had packages (not bait) arrived without any aditional charges but also payed 40eur for package of 10x10hooks... Problem is handling charge as there is no real price list for that...

No doubt about that!

There's an English fella who owns Union Jack baits in France and I think he said out of over 140 flavours he used to be able to buy only 40 or so have been approved by the EU which he's still been able to purchase from the UK, not sure which company he buys from though.

Without trying to sound like I'm premoting them I think he listed them all on their fb page so might be worth a look.

Correct. I popped into see Andy and get bait last week. He still gets some ingredients from Haiths as they are EU approved. I think he said 43 flavours meet EU regulations now.

I've only been living in France since January so I don't know what it was like pre-Brexit, but it's a mare, I'm receiving stuff quicker from China.
Angling Direct advertise as .fr but all their stocks in the UK. I won't be using them again.

Prior to Brexit buying from the UK was a cinch. Often delivery would be quicker than ordering from a French source however we now have given up on UK purchases due to time delays and extra cost.

Non fishing related but I purchased a item from Holland a couple of months ago and it arrived in less than a week and no extra costs 👍👍

I now buy fishing related items from either Germany of Holland and find service fast and reliable.

I'm English but based in NL for the last 30yrs. It's a nightmare now - no bait deliveries as far as I know since Brexit. Sticky, Angling Direct, BAF all suspended delivery as cost, paperwork (vet sign off containers) has rocketed. It's the same admin for one bag of boilies as a container load at the mo'. Same story from main tackle shops here (they can't get UK made bait currently). But..I know bigger companies and Angling Trust are lobbying government.
Solution would be to for UK to align 'food standards' with EU as they were 31/12/20 but...UK wants a trade deal with USA..and EU alignment may affect that (not my opinion, editor of The Economist, R4, Bottom Line here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000sz9b
And delivery from UK is a joke..customs costs, courier costs & like someone said...quicker from China by carrier pigeon at the moment.
