Hi All,

I know this has probably been done to death but I couldn't see too many comments on the following rods as they are quite new:

Traction Pro 10ft 3lb or 3.5 tc

Future Fishing (Diawa blank) 10ft 3.25 tc

Also the Freespirit CTX caught my eye.

Others considered too.

These were the main few I was looking at. Fishing up to about 90 yards max (most of the time it's 10 to 60 yards) with small PVA bags on the 2 lakes I fish.

I'm after a nice all rounder which has enough power but is nice for playing fish too.

Why so high in Tc for 90 yard?

Traction pro are very good rods for the price., I used my Ctx 1x and sold then, the new blanks aren't that good anymore

From Daiwa i have only experience with Cast'izm 10ft 3.00Cork (my current rods) i rate them higher the Fs E-class gold.

I'd invest in something more hi-end. I use 10ft Hi S 2 3/4 with Daiwa Castizm QD's - very nicely balanced set-up and will easily do what you're describing, although anything over 50-60 yards, I prefer to use my 12ft rods, e.g. my Free Spirit ES. The 10ft rods are much better suited to fishing shorter ranges.

I'm in a similar position myself and I'm down to the greys gt2 rods as can get matching spod rod

ESP onyx 10ft 3. 25

Free spirit ctx 10ft 40mm

I'm leaning to the greys but can't seem to get past the free spirit I only cast up to 20 wraps usually under 10 tho

I forgot to mention I'd like the handles to be full size too.

I've got two sets of 10fters now. Bought the first set for the kids and then liked the 10ft lenght so much for small waters that I bought a second pair.

1st pair - Shimano Tribal Velocity 3lb TC - really like them. great quality, shrink wrap handles. cant find them anywhere now.

2nd pair - Wychwood riots, 3lb TC. bought 3 for about £120 off ebay new. super impressed with the quality for the money.

Dont reject them because they're cheap. I am amazed at what you get for the money these days.

I have Harrison torrix customs 3.25lb TC with cork handles only fish canals really and small lakes don't need anything too big.

Those Hi's and Harrison all fine but looking at the rods he is asking info for i dont think thats the price range he is looking at.

Another for the TB Cfx. If you dig around on here theres plenty of favourable comments from users of 10ft rods. I have the SMD model for spodding and Deeper use..Im more than pleased with it. TBH if you go for one of these a TC of 3lb would be fine

I've just bit the bullet on the TB CFX 3lb and the SMD hopefully rods for life as Mrs won't let me get another set at that price lol

Had a set of Tackle box CFX 3lb rods custom built last year and can't fault them. I went for the custom build option because I didn't want short handles which a lot of 10ft rods seem to have.

Do the standard ones on their website only come with short handles? Are they a light / thin blank?

Been looking at them a while but always been put off having to wait for them to be made etc.

They had the handle length increased to 17inches long on the 10ft CFX black rods when their shipped to them already made up as standard if you want the handle length longer it's £20 a rod I was quoted couple of weeks ago and they ain't doing any rod building or mods till April onwards due to how busy they are at the moment

Yes the standard ones come with shorter handles. Give Gary Peet a ring at the Tackle box he designed the rods and can talk you through them. When they arrived and I took them out of the tube I was stunned how light they felt. Well worth the wait and glad I went for the custom build which wasn't that much more than the standard build.
