Which cannon is the latest one to still have infrared with flip screen all newer ones dont have infrared been looking at the 70d

I have a Canon 6D mkII and an M50 which both have the flip creen and bluetooth... which is way better than the old infrared, as you don't need to have direct line of sight with the fob to trigger the camera. I always found with my old 60D that a lens hood could impede the signal and I never liked having the fob visible in the picture. Also, often times it got awkward to hold the fish right and get the fob pointed right - with the newer flip screen DLSRs from Canon, like my 6D or the cheaper 90D and I think 800D, you just press the fob - doesn't need to be pointing at the camera. Just brilliant for self takes! So my advice is to go for a Bluetooth enabled version, which most of the newer ones now are. Infrared is being phased out, for good reason, it was always a bit crap.

Until fairly recently i always used an infa-red release and yes it was sometimes a juggle with a fish and you could see it in the photos......then i learned in about 3 seconds how to use an Intervalometer and wondered why i had struggled all these years.....

Thanks for the replys going to sell my lumix tz90 and put towards in new year probably going for the 70d and I use to love my old school canon g5 and infrared remote only reason really find it nice and easy

Yep, 600D. Mine is still working like a dream! I put my remote in a small sealable bag as well so it doesnt get slimed while taking photos.

I set it to give me a 20 second gap to the 1st picture (time to pick up the fish).
I then set it to take 1 photo every 3 seconds until 10 photo's are taken.
I set it to 3 seconds so if I use a flash the flash has time to recharge.
Put down fish and repeat for the other side of the fish.
20 photo's in under 2 minutes and jobs done!
Around £12-£15 on Ebay.

I have a Canon 200d.
It has wifi so you can also load pics to your phone or use the phone as a remote trigger.
You will need to download the canon app.

Another for the 600D here. Been using mine for the best part of 13 years or so now & with the L glass lenses I use (along with the nifty 50), all pictures taken as as good as anything else out there (as long as you know the right camera settings for the situation). High res images are all well and good with the higher pixel sensors on todays models but unless you are seriously cropping down the image, you won't see much difference at end of day especially once compressed by Social Media algorithms. Only real benefit is if you are going to be submitting them for printing purposes (yet again most consumer printers won't take advantage of the higher pixel count either). The only thing missing from the 600D is 4K video support but that isn't really much of a game changer there even if uploading to YouTube as they compress the video so much that a 4K stream is of such a low bitrate, it is barely noticeable difference to a 1080p stream).
