Right, picture the scene, you're fishing for a handful of special fish in 100 acres of water, only a few anglers fish it reguarly, it has some serious depth for inland u.k waters so it narrows down the hotspots quite a lot, and a couple of special case cousins who fish the lake as a pair ( hopefully not in an incest way), happen to think they are a hierarchy and as a result you are not allowed to fish in certain areas they are trickling a little bit of bait in, this doesn't limit to one spot, this can be 2 or 3 different areas at anytime of year, and the areas change depending on season.

You can use a rowing boat on this water and Today I've turned up to fish an area they know I have been doing well in to find on my deeper reading it has been covered in fresh snags. Basically one of the special cases has gone out in a boat and placed snags in the water so I can't fish the spot. This isn't the first time things have happened to try to discourage me from fishing.

These pair of idiots have such a high opinion of themselves they believe you are spying on them to see where they are fishing so you can benefit from their hard work. What none of these special cases understand is i have a fully completed deeper map of the whole lake and can place my baits by GPS on this map anywhere I fancy. These special cases are still using standard sonar, they think that they are the only ones who know the spots when i have a map of the bottom right infront of me .

These lads think they're the nuts but you have to ask why they need to go to such lengths to stifle my fishing, its obvious to me they are jelous im doing well and worried im going to bag the big girls. How pathetic is that?


I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets targeted because I'm successful, any other stories?

Why don't you name and shame this ridiculous pair ‘of so called anglers' to the lake owner/syndicate/club and explain that they are endangering his special stock of fish.

I'd confront them and tell them that you'll be taking it up with whoever is running the water.

If as you say you've got an underwater map of the place, show who is running things the before and after underwater maps as evidence that there's something underhand going on.

Sounds like a real load of aggravation you've got there mate. Really sorry to hear it to be fair. Just out of interest, how do they know you're doing well, have you told them so or have they seen you catching? If it's the latter, maybe you'll have to be extremely covert in what you do so as they haven't a clue what you're up to. I'd really advise against getting up to similar tricks as they are, you're only lowering your vibration to their lowly levels. Seems like a cope though it's better to be able to hold your head up and say you did the right thing.

cheers mate will do, yeah been seen catching. I've got the before and after maps stored on my phone so I can show them no problem. I know for fact other members have had problems with them being abusive etc aswell, ive been gold on numerous occasions

If it was my water and I had a couple of idiots dropping snags into it they'd both be off and I'd be having a word with other local clubs/syndicates to make sure they were warned about them as well.

What a couple of weapons grade bellends. Just the fact they've been abusive to other members would get them an instant ban from every club I'm a member of. Simply not acceptable.

On the plus side at least you've been getting it right on what sounds a challenging water. So fair play to you.

I'm on a similar sized water with limited stock and it's a tough one so I know the buzz. Got caught red handed by a new member 2 weeks ago taking pics of one I had at first light, proper blew my cover. Got a spot going that I've put a lot of effort into. Would be a killer if I had the grief you're getting.

I'm not too keen on being ultra secret, although in the long run it can pay dividends. Best of luck mate and hope it gets sorted

How big is this snag area they've created? In 100 acres unless they've got your exact co-ordinates how have they managed to accurately deposit snags in your spot.
Any idea what these snags consist of?

They know exactly where it is, its a feature that is easy to find once you know where it is. Looks like branches on the deeper, its gone from being clear as a bell on the deeper to being covered in the space of 5 days, its not tiny bin lid spot either. I'm having a grappler on it next week to pull them up. I know they will read this board, maybe if they read in words what they are upto they will realise just how pathetic they are

I've been sheeped with people jumping in the swims Ive been fishing after I leave every time, but never to that extent!
