Currently on 2.75 Tc Scopes and SS2600's as have been fishing small waters for a few years however I treated myself to a pair of Tourney 5000's and looking for a couple of new rods to balance them out.
I'm not going to be catching any 40's anytime soon but it would be nice to have something that won't leave me feeling undergunned on bigger gravel pits etc.
I won't be chucking huge PVA bags but would like to be able to hit at least 100 yards
Don't mind buying second hand but have no budget in mind.
I'm thinking Free Spirit, Harrison or Century but not against the likes of ESP.
Although I'd like them to be able to handle a fair old cast and balance out the Tourneys I really don't want them to be overly stiff. I've always liked through action ‘players' rods and want these to be equally as enjoyable to play a fish on if that's possible for a heavy duty setup.

FBS's are a good shout! Are these still being manufactured or will I have to find a 2nd hand pair? Doesn't seem to be any 3.25's about.
Another thing I should have mentioned is 40mm butt rings preferably and as tarty as it sounds as slimmer blank as possible.

You wont hit 100 yards with a bag on with a free spirit es. You will be better off with the xs.

Have a look at the Century ADV-1 in 3.25 or 3.50lb either the regular or the stealth version. fantastic rods IMO will do 100 yards with ease and won't pull the mouth off a pastise, still fun to play fish on.

The free spirit Es is a lovely players rod but don't think it's the right rod for what you want but the free spirit XS would do everything you want mate again a lovely rod but with abit more backbone than the Es

E class golds are decent rod's seem to have plenty of poke I'm currently using tackle box cfx's in 3 1/4 and cannot fault them

I think it's a toss up between the XS and ADV1 at the moment.

I would choose between either the E class gold 3.25 or the Hi's 3.25
XS is not worth paying compared to the E class, and the HI'S are 100% worth the extra cost compared to the XS
ADV1 is no match for the Hi's, actually no Century rod is that... (Personal opinion)
