HI Everyone

I have been wanting to make my own biollies for a while now so can i no what going into them ingredient is of benefit to the fish and not just load of bulking agents with flavor , and also i think it will give my fishing an extra edge as i will be using a bait no one else is using.

so i have final got around to getting all the relevant equipment i need to make and roll the boillies.

Now i no this question probably get asked a lot on this forum and a lot of it will be down to trial and error and experimentation on my behalf , but after a lot of research over last few mouths i think i have settled on a list of ingredients that i wont to use and the amounts i wont to use them to create a HNV boille , however i still a little unsure that i have gone over the top and put to much nutrition into it (if that is even possible)/over complicated it, so i was hoping some of the more experience boille maker that have been doing it a while could offer some advice on the ingredients i have chosen, such what to take out or put in ?? or if decrease the amount or increase the amounts of some ingredients ??? etc

The ingredients list is as follows

Ingredient's Amount Per KG
fine semolina 250g
lt-94 200g
CLO 200g
Super gold 200g
mulit Vit 3g
Betaine 10g
fruit Stim 10g
citric acid 2g
Enzymes compound powder 3g
Gml 30g
kola nut 5g
Careatine 5g
yeast culture 30g
kelp 50g
Pink rock salt 3g

liquid sweet fruit 10ml
Peach Melba 2ml
black peeper oil 1ml
frutiy almond 2ml

Any advice big or small is greatly appreciated

Thank you

Scott

Hi, if you are new to bait making I would check out some of the simple recipes on this site.

What you have posted looks far to complicated.

Best keep it simple and use a tried and tested recipe.

Do you actually know why youv out each thing in? Because tbh it looks a bit like you've read a load of descriptions on feed stimulants site and decided to chuck it all in

Sorry but that's a mess. It will cost a fortune and not achieve what you want it to. Keep it simple to start with. Why not have a read of the carpforum approved recipe at the top of the page and follow that. It was put together by a bait maker so the quantities have been worked out for nutrition and you can be sure it will roll.
Rather than loads of different ingredients just use the one s you need. Fishmeal, semo, soya, lamlac and wheatgerm will make you a perfectly decent basemix which will catch you carp

300,200,200,200 and 100.

Some oil, good dollop of hydroslate and a flavour if you think it needs it. More effective and probably 1/3 of the cost of the one you posted.

I would stick to five base mix ingredients at the most then add a flavour to the eggs before getting too complicated.

You want to avoid a pantry full of ingredients that may not get used in the long term and one if not the biggest benefits of bait making yourself is freshness of ingredients / finished bait.

I will dig out an old recipe for you. It's the liver mix. Very cheap and all ingredients can be purchased from a supermarket/ health food shop. You can get started and rolling for a few quid as well as catching.

right her goes IP.100,

the reasons i have put each ingredient in is as ( i t my the right, it my be wrong but that i asked for other peoples constructive advice that no more that me)

Semolina - cause its high in carbs around the 70 percent mark, its a good flavor carrier and it give a gently firming structure to bait which should make the rolling process a bit easier.

LT-46 fish meal - because it Around the 70% protein mark so it high in protein, which one of the main ingredients/reasons for boille and i,m lead to believe that Lt-46 is one better one and easier to to digested .
(to be honest i was unsure on the lt-46 or milk powder because of the winter/summer debate about milk proteins but i went with lt-46 in because its more digestible for the fish)

Just to complicated.

You can use LT94 and milk proteins they will both catch in winter and summer.

Semo - 150
Soya - 150
CLO - 150
Whey or Lamlac - 100
LT94 - 300
PDFM - 100

50 grams to do what you like with

Nice and simple and will catch fish.

Way to complicated

Try the BM1 mix from this forum, add maybe one flavour and a liquid food. It will work better than that

So there's not actually a reason then it's way too complicated, as mentioned the forum recipe is a good starting place.

He puts 15 dry ingredients in his mix and then tells you why he's using two of them. Classic. Use a simple mix or use your own mix, it's your choice at the end of the day.

I wouldn't be rolling that for a beginner it's way to complicated. Why dont you just buy a pre made base mix to start and learn the very basics. Getting your baits Perfectly round, boiling times to play around with I like mine to still be paste in the middle. Air drying times I don't like to air dry for too long maybe 8 hours Still like them to be fairly soft. I don't want all the moisture to be gone and completely dry the mix out. Start mega simple or you can lose yourself up your own arse very quickly

I was taught that each ingredient must provide an advantage and not detract from the other ingredients. If you don't know what that advantage / disadvantage is then you shouldn't include it. That goes for every ingredient

Are you sure?
