Might be opening up a big debate here but........
Thinking of going for a van when I change my car next. Obviously the VW T6 is a nice motor but you sure seem to pay the price.
What you all driving and let me hear all the good and bad please.
Will need to have something with 5 seats and would like something that's not too firm a ride (no silly low profile alloys that hate pot holes!!)

I got a 15 plate Renault trafic does av 45 to a gallon fits the gear in perfect apart from a sensor servicing touch wood nothing gone wrong with it picked ut up last year 6 grand on 60,000 miles they do a crew cab that might be worth looking at

You can get the transit custom crew cabs for a decent price, and not too big either. I was having a look a while back and you can pick them up for £8-10k

I have a new tranny connect lwb it's my second it fits two peoples gear in for a week in France or back home it easy fits my power porter without talking the handles of

Transits are ok, don't buy a Renault as its a lottery as to if you get a good one or a money pit, the Toyota thing is apparently decent

I've been driving a Toyota HiAce for over a decade and they are absolutely brilliant mechanically. My son was a Volkswagon Commercial main dealer mechanic, and he thinks they are brilliant too. It's driven all the way to Spain twice with over half a tonne of pellets on board as well as all of the kit.
However, I fancy a Transit as my next van when this one dies.

The new proace is a smart little van, Citroën and Peugeot do the same, rebranded, think they all do an mpv variant. I ended up with a t6, I wanted 4wd so really only left one choice.

I drive a Transit custom for work, there nice too drive but not the greatest on fuel and mainly return low 30's mpg, there also very easy to break into so would recommend upgrading the locks.
I've driven various works vans over the last 20yrs in various jobs from Post Office LDV's which are total cack, to Nissan Tipper trucks for building works. Transits,Kangoos, Mercedes Sprinters, VW Transporters etc etc etc.
Our current work vans which we trade in every 2yrs are Renault Trafic Sports and I have never driven a better van, as comfortable as driving a car. They do about 30k miles a year each and if anything goes wrong Renault sort it out on warranty, half the price of the VW alternative and better than the Transit and VW as well. Economical 1.6 Turbo, and they drive fine full up of kit effortlessly.

I Drive a vw T5 LWB instead of a car, have fitted a Rock and roll bed into the back giving me 5 seats,2 tinted side glasses it drives like a car can be very economical depends how you drive it, takes all my tackle and the bonus is theres a 6 foot bed if I ever need to sleep in it, some times have to do a circuit around some car parks to find a slightly longer bay but that my choice, have kept the normal tyres and wheels on so no issues with pot holes,

the ramp is a bonus. its a family car, windows, 5 seats but with a van load space.
No VAT and very unfashionable so cheap and doesn't have to be white.
