looking back through history I'd say a lot of really famous people have got their fame by murdering someone already famous. Lee Harvey Oswald etc etc.

Maybe try a naked streak around houses of parliament, might only get you page 6 in the sun though.
Quite a few people seem to get famous going on one of these god awful reality shows, might be worth a punt take a few boilies with you and eat them act like the crazy one.

There aren't any.....and if you think there are stand any so called angling legend like lets say Alan Scotthorne (multiple genuine world champion)
Next to lets say David Beckham.
See which one draws the biggest crowd (but we know who is the best at what he does...by far)

What part of being a famous angler is it that's attracting you.
Is it the lavish lifestyle, the fast cars and faster women.
Is it the A list celeb parties every weekend or is it the pots and pots of money and jetting off to Excotic locations.
It must be every boys dream to be a famous angler but so so many dreams are crushed so early.

Are there really any famous anglers? The closest you'll get to is probably Ali hamidi at least hes been on tv, I'm not going to count dean macey as he wouldn't be a famous angler if he hadn't done some sort of sport or something.

That's a great point. Look at Terry Hearns fall from grace. That should be a lesson to all of us. Started out working in the city, millions of pounds in the bank, hot model girlfriend, A list fiends over to his Mansion. Then his mate took him carp angling and look at him now, old green jumpers with holes in, living on a boat eating microwave means and digging a hole to **** in.
Had it all till he got on the fishing, lost the lot. Such a shame. I know all his mates have tried to get him off the fishing but he's hooked. Tragic.

Can only think of 4 genuinely famous anglers, Richard Walker, Rod Hutchinson, Chris Yeats and Terry Hearn. So not easy. Becoming notorious and or well known is easier and usually relies on neck and lip.
