Hi all.
I'm posting this to see if there are any French lakes to avoid going forward, for any reason!
I'm looking to fish new lakes from this year and beyond, so wanted some hard facts about your experiences.
WHATEVER the reason, I'm interesting in hearing it, so I can avoid those places:
Money is hard to come by, so I want to spend wisely!
*If the stock is lower that advertised
*if the owners are dodgy with payments
*if the facilities are not very good
*if the venue is noisy
*if the venue is not secure
Etc etc..
Thanks

This could be interesting....

Just a reminder before we all go guns ablazing.

No naming of persons or waters on the basis of unsubstantiated rumours

Let me start then by saying Valdore

The first time I went to France was at this venue with a group of us,overall the place was ok the food was ok and what I can remember the price was ok.

BUT having a number of lakes on the complex it was like a circus one guy on another lake had his baitboat fail on him in the evening but by the time he went to retrieve it someone had pinched it 👎
He packed up and went home.

I vouched never to go back to that sort of complex again and I haven't me a our party go to a lake exclusive now 👍

I understand this. Are you saying I cannot find out specifically which lakes have given anglers bad vibes?

Yes, anything like this is helpful..
I just want to spend my hard earned money with great fisheries, not the ones that take you for a ride!

First hand experience is fine.

"I heard..."
"my mate said.."
"The black cab driver the other day said..."

no.
You get my drift..

Me too, I guess...🤔
The genuine interested is to ask those that have had a bad experience..
Helping me especially, to find somewhere really accommodating, secure, great owners, really fair rules and reasonable numbers of good sized carp.!
Reading a fair bit lately, about fisheries showing their true colours when it comes to refunds during the lockdown, or deposits for future bookings..
but there is definitely a thread for that somewhere..
Anyway; any info would be good..

Search any venue you have an interest in.......should bring up plenty of information and go from there!

Some people write a bad review of a venue because they blanked, because the beer was expensive, there dinner was 5 minutes late etc!

What type of venue are you looking for???

That's hard a hard one to answer...
I'd say, 10-25 acres..
300+ fish
Drive and survive
Respected place
Mature lake and good facilities
You see by asking for the bad ones, it's much easier than asking for good ones, as they are so many good ones...! Elimination is easier
I'd still want to know which venues to avoid...

That's a start......

There's far more good venues than bad IMO........looking at your requirements I would suggest Moorlands, lesmont, gigantica, Crystal.

Have a look at them and see if they tickle your fancy.......
Are you sure?
