Im looking at making my own powerporta as too tight to spend 800 on one! Has anyone on here made 1 and coud sare some ideas with me? I have a good idea on how to do it but woulkd be interested to see other peoples!!

Have a look at tsm baits Facebook page if it's still running. They used to make powered wheels for all makes of barrow but don't think they do it anymore but you might find some useful tips from the photos.

Hi thanks for the reply. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be running anymore. Tried to contact him several differant ways with no sucess

I think carp porter are missing a trick by not having the power porter conversions anymore. If someone is looking to go powered they might buy a nash instead. Where as if they could keep their porter and just buy a power add on then carp porter get a sale, keep a customer and the customer is happy as he gets a cheaper job.

Hi I made one using a powerstroll wheelchair motor which is portable just look up powerstroll ,mine cost 100 second hand and comes with 24v battery and speed controller , I had to take the motor off of the powerstroll which is pretty much the same as a power porta motor and fix it to a fixed axle through the wheel of my avid transit barrow, as for the battery I just place that in the under bag on the trolley and connect it all up.

Spoke to him end of last year and he wasnt doing them then and wasnt sure when he would be hence the reason I made my own.

did u use an axle all the way through and then make a sleeve to go over the axle then bolt it all together?
