What's the feeling on using 10ft rods?.

all ive used for 3 years now - depends if you can get on with the shorter butt handle which isnt for most people.

Been using my new Darent Valley 3lb 10ft rods on my small waters and I like them especially the short slim handles as they match my build. Had fun today fishing close in catching carp to mid doubles and found short rods easier to play fish in tight corners.

I picked up some jrc 3lb 10ft rods for using on smaller waters, i got to admit i actually really enjoyed using them, felt really nice.
Just cant cast them that far but thats probably just me lol

my go to rods if i can get away with it now are my sawn offs,follows very closely by 10ft 3lb fox horizon x then my torrix,the sawn off are so much fun to play fish on,the horizon x are lovely to play fish on.

Its all I use now. I had a set of 10 ft 2.75lb Harrison Ballista's made by Gary at The Tackle Box, they are amazing rods, so much fun to play fish on.

I used 10ft scopes as my main rods for about 3 years. Fine from the margins up to 100yds with baboon emblems. Now have 11ft baby ballista's and 10ft bank creepers, can't see me ever going back to clumsy 12 footers unless I regularly need 120yd casts.

the carp rods in my quiver are 10ft TFG compact commercial 2.5lb and they are sweet.
a lovely thin blank, slightly shortened handle, cast well up to 60 yards or so with a small bag on, bend over nicely with a mid/upper double and absorb those swirling lunges in the margins so gently but still a bit left to have the final say...
i was pinching my shimano aero 6010 reels off my barbel rods to use on them but have now matched them up with a pair of shimano XTE reels with sexy single handles

How are you finding the castizms? I'm using SS1000's at the mo, and as pretty as they are, I feel that they are restricting my range a fair bit.

I got some 10ft 3lb TB CFX and they are bloody lovely. They are so light in the hand, compact, take up less space in tight swims and great for casting in swims with canopies. They look the part and they have handled fish to low 30 so far

I use 10ft eclass bankcreepers as my main rods and have done so for last 3-4yrs but only used 10ft rods for last15yrs! I only fish small lakes and they are perfect for my style of angling.
