I have some,
seem great so far.
Very smooth, no wobble, fairly light, nice clutch.

I heard the Mitchell Avocasts are 95% the same reel. A few extra bearings and very slightly lighter the Penns are twice the money

Do they come with two full depth spools? I have seen an ad where it says so, but also some conflicting info on others......? If they come with the proper spare that's 20 quid you don't have to spend on a spare

ltd's look to have two extra deep mono spools rather than the surf versions that have a mono and PE spool
penns first carp reels (the adds are wrong it isnt penns first venture into the carp market) they used to do powergraph carp rods a baitrunner i cant recall the name of and the carpmaster reel circa 2000-2002

Got these reels on Saturday and been on a long wkend using them!
All I can say is " WOW! Fantastic "!!
the line lay, the looks, the weight, not to big but big enough,
Feel well built, super clutch ! I can go on.

Glad you're happy with the reels but don't mislead people.
A few days back you were asking how to use a front drag reel having only used baitrunners (ALL top end shimanos are front drag even the ci4 baitrunner), yet now you've used loads of top end shimano reels which apparently aren't as good as the penns.

Yea fair point mate. Was using the old shimano baitrunner then xt-a shimano baitrunners for a while,the front
Drag reels I have had I always used to fish with the bail arm open.
But do very much like the penns, and now I'm getting used to front drag work
There good. Ok they are not top end but they are very good reels lets just see if they last like
