Hi all, have bulin stove thats packed up .. does not hold the flame when ignited. I've seen previous pictoral posts but its not the model i have. Have dismantled and cant see any issue. Any ideas or is it a scrapper?

and in this throw away society its good to repair and keep things going the way i see it it sounds like it can only be a blocked filter or jet ?

Mate of mine had the same issue with his original one which I put him onto, he'd had it six or seven years so he just bought a new one and the next time I see him on the bank he was explaining to me what the issue was and how it had become it was the lowest of flames barely a flicker and would go out within seconds so he'd just bought a new one.
Upshot was he had his old one with him the next time we were on the bank together it was still in his cook bag so I stripped it all down put a needle through the jet banged the burner plates a bit to loosen the carbon, dirt, dust deposit cupped my hand and blew through the plates re-assembled the stove and she roared like new, now he has 2 x T4's.
But cheap enough to replace from Gerry's link.

Somebody a good few years ago in one of the forum pages here did a long posting with pictures on how to strip a Bulin T4 down and clean it.

I hardly use mine but the pre heat pipe gets loads of crap in it, the wire rope wants a good few taps to clear out, I guess it's this crap that ends up blocking the jet

I think mine had a couple of differences from the one in the thread I saw.
It's really not hard to strip them down tho

Stripped it and tapped it out but no difference. Will have another go though until i resort to replace.

Did you wiggle a pin in the jet? if you have access to an airline might help as well, as mentioned by another forum member if you release the flat head screw on the bottom of the pre-heat and just move the wire rope back and forth then blow it out might also help, it can only be a blockage stopping the gas flow.

Probably needs more than tapping.

OK that link is for a petrol stove but in it they mention boiling parts in soapy water or soaking in coca cola to clean blocked parts.

Gawd knows how you would connect it but somehow how connect the blocked part to a fully inflated car tyre, don't forget to reinflate it after!
The problem can only be a blocked part, get it unblocked and it will probably work like new.
I hate throwing stuff away and get satisfaction from mending things.

Stupid question maybe, but have you tried it on multiple cannisters?

TBH i have an NGT adaptor to use the pierce cans - it maybe that so i will try fitting a screw in.
