Hi guys anyone have a recommendation of places that re spray reels, my basia's need a little tlc someone said south coast customs but can't find them anywhere anymore

I don't think they do that anymore mate, they're now called reel king . Jb custom rods in and reels on Facebook and insta does some lovely work or faf customz have a fantastic rep

F&F Customz,I have used them and they did an amazing job

I had ‘reel tech' recommended to me a while back as I'm thinking of having my tournies done . I wonder from those who have had this done a while how robust this is in comparison to the original paint work .

My basia's are in with F&F customs at the minute for a complete customise been there just over 2 weeks heard nothing but good stuff from these guys and very helpful and friendly tool

Cheers guys will have a look at those two, bought a set that are in need of a respray so the guy took a bit of money off wanna get em touched up

I had my line clip done and that takes some stick and no signs of any wear on the coating.I would say its more robust than the original coating

I've had the clip included in price F&F quoted me £150 per reel so £300 in total and I put a deposit of £100 down and they sent me a receipt there's a 4 week turn around as well I may post some pictures on here if any one is interested but not sure how to do this if anyone can help I'll do it when I get them back

Not sure I have proper before pictures think now maybe I should have done that but if anyone can help me when I get them back I will gladly put pictures up as I do t know how to do it on here.
I'm really looking forward to having them back and I know in my mind how they should or want them to look so I know I won't be disappointed
This is the work I've had done though

Lipstick red spool with the holes black round the base of spool.
Black line clip
Top of spool is still black but the holes on that are red.
The QD lettering on top of spool will be red.
The screw part to tighten handle up is red.
The extra bit at the back of all basias is going to be red.
And the wooden handle will be red with my football team badge etched on the side of it.
And I'm having black DIAWA decals put back on the spools and also on the part that's at the back of all basias.

The pictures of some of the reels that have been done already on their website look amazing and that's where I got my ideas from.
Think red & black will set it apart from others
Oh and a service is included in the price to so I think it's a good deal

I along with loads of other anglers use “F.A.F for reel servicing and re-sprays and can highly recommend them p, believe me, these people are top notch and you would certainly be impressed

I think this thread is going to cost me a lot of money

I have been looking at my QDX's and despite treating them with kid gloves the black body paint is very fragile. From the various comments on here F&F painted bodies seem to be sturdier.

I've found out as well they customise indicators and also do customised rod but caps which look really nice and different.
I've got the jag safeliners and they done a blue one on their website so when I pick my reels up I'm going to see what they can do with my maybe red and black I don't know I have a few ideas in my head for them

Im just waiting
for when my scruffy but perfectly serviced and maintained working reels come into fashion
a bit like the slashed and ripped Jeans the brain dead wear and buy for 5 times the normal price

The red spool will be toned down once line is on them and will look even better imo.They are very nice but the badge has decreased the value of them by 95%

So if I'd have had a Man Utd badge or liverpool badge on there it would have doubled their value 😂😂😂😂.
At least I'm being realistic and not a plastic fan(not insinuating anybody on here is)just a normal footie fan who doesn't expect a lot from their team

Is that black body re sprayed and if so how does it compare to the original?

Don't think it's a new spray looks like the original,the guy showed me round his work shop and I'd mentioned this site and discussion and he said he'd already had loads of calls about reels,he also said he'd got 83 reels to be done I must say the quality of his work is outstanding I paid £160 each including a deposit and now looking at my jag safe liners to be done next.
And maybe my caps on my rods later on
