Hi All,

My mate is due out next week and wondering how it's fishing?
Anyone out there at the moment or recently back?

Cheers

On lake 1.One of the bailiffs is on the lake and tearing it up while 8 of the 9 paying customers is currently blanking.

Lake 3 is pretty much unfishable due to weed.

Lake 4 has heavy weed. Tench coming out!

Lots of long faces atm but there's plenty of time for that to change.

Bailiff in 7.

It's cooling down though. Rain and potential thunder storms tonight into tomorrow.

Bailiff in 7 rested his swim all day and has this evening had a 68+lb mirror.

Since then he's had 2 more fish.

Well. I suppose there's no substitute for local knowledge. Absolutely rinsing it.

I don't agree with bailiffs being allowed to fish to be honest, they are there to help you not to show you how many fish they can catch.

How is lake 5 doing?

Agreed. Did the bailiff chose that swim before the draw, or did the draw take place and that swim wasn't being used.
If the bailiffs are allowed to fish then I think the later should apply.
Is the owner aware of what goes on?

Bailiff pulled off yesterday. Angler dropped in right behind and has had fish now.

Lake 2 is also heavily weeded. Horrendous in places. Few guys are now on it and have picked up a few fish.

Seems mad to me that a bailiff on a holiday venue could fish while paying customers are on? Surely his job is to move around the lake helping/checking in on the punters?

Iv been to cretelakes numerous times, it used to be 1 bailiff a week gets to fish nights only, and if someone wanted the peg he was in they had to move

LOL. You can't make this stuff up...

A fish that the bailiff caught at 68lb was caught 2 days later and the angler claims it now weighs 73lb.....

At 68lb it was weighed twice and checked by no less than 4 bailiffs. So, the 68 looks bang on.

Has anyone been out recently on the coach? Are they still allowing you to take your own bait?

Couldn't think of a worse fishery to spend a weeks fishing at , a load of holes in the ground with power lines running right over you , why do so many choose to fish these overstocked puddles ?

Each to there own pal. just like everything in fishing it is all personal choice, if you don't like it then don't do it. I'm just happy been on the bank, wether that's on my syndicate, a packed out day ticket or over stocked puddles in France,
Maybe you should lighten up and stop been so negative

To be fair, I originally thought I wouldn't like it, but ended up going last year, had a great time, so much so, that I've been again and wouldn't hesitate to go back in future.

Why does it matter Andy? Each to their own. If we all liked the same things it would be a very boring world

There are big carp in most lakes across the pond though. Some are just a bit easier to catch than others!

100% agree Ian , was just wondering what the pull of the place is ? Must be the massive stock of big fish in few small lakes
