Cell, cell and more cell. We went in 2016 and had 15 fish between 7 of us, including a number of 50s. All bar one were caught out of the margins.

They were just finishing spawning when we went - and peg 8 and 10 right were the flyers. I was in 4 and a mate in 3 - and we had to really work hard for our fish.

Nice place. Great fish.

Mate did a decent video of our trip. Search YT for "Lac Du Charlou 2016".

Every fish came to the Cell. Couple of boys used other baits and blanked.

Not easy - but there are some lumps in there.

If you are not in peg 8 or 10 you will almost certainly blank.

If you are you may still Blank.

Not an easy water

Tend to agree with this. Ive fished it with 3 others twice. Both times we have had 11 fish between the 4 of us, both times we've had the 3 biggest fish in the lake and both times all but one fish has come out of those two pegs.

My experience has made me think that it really doesnt have much of a stock tbh

It is a tough water but to say you will blank in unless you are in 8 or 10 is total waffle, my advice would be to watch the water, on Charlou you need to fish wherever the fish are showing obviously if possible. I've fished there on numerous occasions in numerous swims and had good hits and blanks🤷🏻‍♂️ If you are in 10 and there lumping out all the way down in 4 and no ones in there don't wait a day or two just go straight down there cos they could be there all week!!!!

Obviously no sense of humour!

I was making a point its not an easy water and usually those 2 pegs are the go to.

I have a similar view to post 8 on stock.

Don't get me wrong. Its a nice water with some big fish in it. Just not loads of back up fish.

There are hard waters because the fish are tricky and there is hard waters because the stock is thin.......

It was far too hard for me .

Paul let me walk round and it is a lovely well kept venue with some serious lumps in .

But you got to know your limitations 🤔🫢

I kept fishing Lesmont up the road and I hauled regular 🫢

A lot of the time those that do blank think they are better anglers than they actually are and then slate the gaff .

Seen it on Lesmont numerous times as you know also .
You either get to grips with it and haul or you sulk and blank .
