Hi there,
Anyone had any problems setting Home and Spots via the remote? If I hold down CH to set Home, nothing happens other than a bleep from the remote and two from the boat with the light not indicating that Home is set on the remote, same goes for Spots, I get one bleep from the remote and three this time from the boat. GPS is blinking blue.
Tried resetting Home and Spots on the remote by holding down A and B, still nothing???
Is there a hard reset on these thing with like some funky button presses. I'm all out of ideas here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated 👍

Good question.
It all depends on what you're doing really. As a cheap boat that does everything you want it to, I'd say yes. I'm on a big pit that gets some wild weather, it's handled everything that's been thrown at it like the storm we had over the weekend. Said this a lot of times on here: I've regularly had the boat to 400+yds with no drop in the boats signal/loss. I do have boosters, those are just for the sonar, not the boat. It's been thoroughly tested and has done surprisingly well.
The only downside - could just be on my boat - is the design of the hoppers when you use particles. Small stuff like hemp can get caught occasionally in the door/hinge assembly if I forget to flush it out. I've had a look at one of the guys RT4 and it's a much better design, even though the RT4 looks like it has the same hopper, just that the RT4 has them under the boat and not like the ND's inside of the boat kinda...if there makes any sense? Maples and bigger has never been a problem.
I've added a Raymarine Dragonfly which I installed myself. If you add it all up, it totts up (Inc ND app) to around 1.2k, the RT4 can be got hold of for 1.8k. the reason I mention the RT4 is I believe they're comparable with the same sonar setup, just that the ND is smaller and that Carplounge's app is far better and more matured.

I just bought the bait boat, and I'm having the same problems as you described.

Are you just using the handset or are you using it in conjunction with the app but not payed for the app?
Long story.short, I was expecting the app to do things which I had to pay for.
Long press the CH button and that sets Home
Drive your boat out to where you want to fish

Definitely, for the money, it really is a good boat. I do think that if they would have made it the same size as the RT4, they really would have hit it out the park. Something simple like having two batteries, one for the boat and the other for a sonar. I do think they missed a trick on the count.
If you do get one, get the speed kit as it does make a difference 😁

Had a long messenger conversation with ND tackle, and was told the boat wouldn't show due invalid autopilot, so I bought the autopilot, believing everything would be fine, but all I got was a boat beeping and a handset beeping, the blue light was turned white... and so will it continue until I turn it off,
So was hopeful when I read your post, and could it just be a faulty handset...

Okay, first off, make sure you're in a good area to get a proper GPS fix, the boat will bleep endlessly if it can't get it's GPS location.
Have you re registered the app and boat again? I've found with each new version of the app the old settings get over written. If that fails, re register the handset to the boat, then turn the app on, then re register the app to the boat like you did when you first payed for the app. Give all that a try and see if that helps.
Something to keep in mind, make sure you have auto updates turned off. Only learnt this the hard way and the new version overwrote all my saved spots. If you've got a spare device, always, always use that before installing any new version of ND's boat app so you can see what the new version does and what they may have cocked up.
Hopefully Martin we can get your boat going 👍

But then again, its not the app or any setting on my devices, its the ability to find and lock on to satellites, from either the boat or the handset, so I was hopeful you would return with the answer... yep a new handset fixed all my problems, but since that's not the case, I better send the boat and handset to Germany, and I better do it fast... carp season is just around the corner.

Both inside and out on a swim... no change in the behaviour of boat or handset.
ND tackle UK has returned with the possibility the boat has a faulty GPS board.
The service from ND tackle UK or DE is great...

Forget about the app for a moment, leave the app turned off. Let's start from the very beginning. Register the handset to the boat, do this outside where the boat can get a clear GPS signal. You do know how to do this don't you? Long press the controller stick inwards.

Been out in the open for 10 minutes now, I have a clear sky, stars above me, no obstacles between the boat and GPS satellites... GPS is flashing dark blue.
Am I, as you did, expecting something to happen... like a solid blue light in GPS on the handset.

Yeah, the handset should go solid blue pretty quickly.
I'd go with a knackred GPS board. I'd send it back pronto and get a replacement sent back to you.

The manual provided with the bait boat, is telling me, when the GPS light is flashing, the handset and boat is not registered. And registered I think is to satellites, because I can operate the boat with the handset, so on that area, they are registered.
And I'm expecting to see my boat as a dot or another indicator on the app.
I was expecting the ability to make spots A, B, C and D without the autopilot, but save them, so I could return to them, when I'm operating the boat manually.
I thought my English was above average here in Denmark, but I somehow missing some important information, and need to be lead back on track.

You will be able to control the boat with the handset regardless of GPS. To be able to use the GPS function, the boat needs be registered with the handset, like a handshake of sorts.
If you registered the boat by long pressing in the button on the controller stick and that all went fine and still the blue light for the GPS is still flashing, obviously there's a GPS problem. From what I could make out, you seemed to suggest you had a new hand controller but still there's a GPS problem.
Did you go through the motions of making sure the handset was registered with the boat?
I don't mind helping out at all, I know how frustrating this can be, especially so having to send messages backwards and forwards.

Same thing happened to me, I had been using it for 6 months without any problems. I contacted ND with my boat ID number from the APP and they reset my GPS and all works as it should now.
