I'm currently on Horseshoe, a chap a few swims along is using a euro style pod , admittedly as ugly as can be, the inner tart in me seriously can't see its beauty,, However its functionality seems endless! Does anybody own and use so a beast?🤔

Never seen one on the bank personally.

Hi Johnny, the chap had a tripod style with the pod buzz bars projecting over the water at an angle with the rod tips just above the water and the end of the rods by the reels much higher eliminating the need to bend down, it all seemed so solid have you used such a type?

Europods are great bit of kit ....yes if you are a tackle tart then they may look a bit big and ugly ..BUT if you want something that does what its designed to do then they are fantastic ....where i live in Spain 99% of my fishing is done on a rocky surface so no banksticks

I have a Daiwa one (also for use in Spain) and find that it isn't that stable really unless it is weighed / tied down. However, it is a lightweight pod so others may be more stable being heavier.

I mentioned them on here a while back and the reception was slow and often on a personal note. ButI do have one and wouldn't go abroad without it, I have used it over here but now have a lighter pod ideal for my waters.
They are stable, adaptable and perfect for any bank surface. You cant put your rods really close together though so you need to fold your handles which probably precludes use by the tart brigade

Yes, used that style a lot. There are a number of different variations of that style, I believe jrc do a version as well. I use a fox ranger at the moment as it's so flexible and also negates the need to bend down (bad back and all that), but most of the europods help with that.
Bit confused they aren't more popular in the UK, but carp fishing does have it's own set of weird rules and preferences

I had this one used it for a few years in France 4 rods on it rock solid any angle tips up or down brilliant bit of kit heavy thats why it was so stable in any weather Amiaud Pech make some of the best pods on the planet

Amiaud - CARP´O pod around 649,00 EUR but they do a painted steel version thats much cheaper now

Remember something similar from yesteryear called the SAS pod. Only ever saw one, took the bloke about 20 minutes to put it together. Looked smart when he'd finished though.

With two bits of elastic and a heavy duty carrier bag you could get a bit of bait out fast before fitting the buzzers.

I had an earlier version Gerry. Agree it was very stable, but i just didn't like to look of it. Reminded me of a mixer stand.

Fortunately I have never worried or even considered what something looks like
I am only concerned how well it works my late fishing partner I fished with for over 30 years used to say I swear gerry you deliberately push your banks sticks in at angles and different heights just to wind me up lol
he was and engineer and everything was so precise
I think I subconsciously do

but I know exactly where I have piled or chucked everything lol I am the opposite of a tackle tart

My swim always looks like a tornado has just passed through it but I know where everything is. Guys that set up wit spirit levels and an OCD view of their gear are welcome to their world, the fish can't see my crappy set up but still eat my bait.
My euro Pod cost about £40 years back. It's ugly, cumbersome but solid as a rock - bit like me really
