Due to go out to the venue this year for the first time. Just wondering how much bait I should be taking with me? I did see a post which I can't find anymore someone saying they were putting in 5kg a day?

When I fished it used 40 kilos by the Wednesday landing about 35 fish then cut back on the bait as I was running low and landed only about 10 more all week after that so if there on you then you'll use loads but if there not then obviously you'll need less.

Depends on if the fish are having it.
I would take 20 kilos and buy the rest out there!
we made the mistake of taking 80killos and didn't use it 2 yrs ago.
Im due last week in sept this year. Been a few times before!
Think last year I used about 65kilos of boiilies and particles in August for 15 fish.

I was thinking of taking 50kg of boiliie can always bring it back if I don't use it. If it really kicked off I can get extra particle whilst I'm there

I've been a few times over the years and caught well as have others setting traps for a bite at a time. It's not only pile it in stuff.

They defiantly responded to spombing when I was there. Literally 10 mins after spombing the rod would go.
And certain times of the day it would kick off the same time every day, pretty mad as it was 38 degrees in the shade when we were there!
But the year previous we couldn't buy a bite over bait. Tiny pva balls of sweet corn hooked on the hook proved best.
I guess its best to be well prepared with bait and like said you can always take it home.

Gutted! Still don't understand why Tony's shut it for the whole year?
I guess he has his reasons. Hopefully can get back on in the future!

I went in April a few years back and only used 20kg Cell all week. Had fish on me but just fed 2/3kg a day as i dont think they were feeding really hard it was still abit cold at night. I just chopped my 18mm baits in half so got more for my money if you know what i mean. All bites came at night and had 12 fish 5x40s 7x30s

Came from a 5 day January session... Took advantage of them being opened this winter and practically no anglers on
because of restrictions...had 13 fish to 63lb... Very impressed by the stock in the lake.

Rather than start a new thread i thought i'd resurrect this one. Any regulars have any info/advice on Swim 2 at beginning of May? I know the swim can do big hits but any advice re baiting, areas etc would be much appreciated

I fished peg 4 back in 2018 in April and had 12 fish in the week. Alot of the fish in the spring hold up off the reeds in front of peg 4,6,7. When I was there fish were getting caught do the resteraunt end but the main bulk where up near the reeds. I only used 20kg bait but the bites kept coming. They do like big beds of boile after spawning and they love the cell. Tonnes of it used to go in. Don't ignore the margins aswell some bigguns get caught from them

Thanks very much for the reply. Yes i was expecting them to be grouped around the reeds but had heard that 2 was an area that saw plenty of traffic so it was always worth trying to stop/hold them with bait. I had also been told that at that time of year it can pay off to fish short if everyone else is going long as you say.

There are an awful lot of catfish in the 30 -40lb bracket so bear that in mind.

Not much more info to be given... Fish will either come in your swim or not... Stick with your spots and bait regularly... Watch the water, they do show themself...

Wish I could get a booking again. Unfortunately as a single angler it is nigh on impossible.

Ok thanks, sort of gathered that......having fished in France for over 30 years i've found that many of the commercials have predictable patterns and swims. That has been proven on this venue by the amount of fish that come out of swim 4 as it has the main feature. Was just interested to hear from any regulars that may have identified any quirks for swim 2 to give us something to think about nothing more

My last visit was July 2021, fished swim 8.
29 fish of which 16 were cats, but made up for by 2 60+ mirrors.
Love to go again if the opportunity arises. 🤞

I fished swim 2 last May. Had 6 fish all over 40lb at about 21 wraps, to the right of the swim, over beds of boilies . I didn't put loads out . However swim 4 was the going swim that week .
Have also done well on solid bags out there, but that was in October 2018 swim 7 & October 2021 swim 2 & 3 . After moving out of swim 4 .

Any advice on swim 6 this time anyone? Obviously the left hand side has the left margin and reeds at distance but being doubled up i'd appreciate any info on the right hand side of the swim if possible too. TIA.

No takers on the swim, so has anyone fished 5 or 6 when the weed is up? Apparently it's quite thick and you are fishing holes. I have no issues with the weed but like to be prepared so just after some info on what type of weed it is and if it's normally solid or just patches. There are no boats in the swim so just trying to get a picture of what we are facing from anyone that has fished that end in these conditions. Thanks.
