Middlewich, Cheshire visible from about 2230 to the naked eye according to my neighbours.
@ post 2, Bit wierd....I went out at 0030 today and there were what looked like 2 aircraft vapour trails in the sky which were moving, to the naked eye they looked just like mist...but hold the phone camera up to them and it revealed all the colours. At one point there was a shuttle cock shaped cloud emitting pinks, yellos and greens.

Might have to turn the brightness up to see it

Here in Australia we had the equivalent Aurora Australis last night, visible to those in Tasmania and along the Southern coast.

It wasn't visible in Sydney where I live, but I happened to be in Melbourne on business late in the week and stayed for the weekend for a friends Birthday. We caught a glimpse of it too in the early hours of the morning - Pinks and Greens.

I remember there being a big show back in the late 80's in the UK. I was out fishing in the Cotswold Water Park and noticed a strange Green & Blue shimmering on a completely cloudless night. It was very unusual to see it that far South. Blanked though !!!

Yeah we went near matlock to have a look, photos came out really good but with the naked eye you could only see a faint red, pinky colour.
Worth looking though and I believe might be visible again tonight

Could anyone actually see it? There was a light pink haze in the sky for me last night. I took a photo and it showed up a vibrant bright sky, not at all like i could actually see
