Different hooks for different setups imo. I use long shank hooks when using snowman baits on a blowback rig(done the proper way with a rig ring, not silicone) . I only really use wide gapes for particle hookbaits

I would have thought it would depend on what rig you are intending to use them and how you intend to use them. A longshank blowback rig might be better than a wide gape with an extended kicker, for example.

is there any advantage over long shank hooks against wide gape or is it personal prefence.
