Going for the CI4+ XTR-A LC seems like the best choice, thx all for the feedback

Shimano Medium Baitrunner CI4+ XTR-A LC are £250 ish each in UK so that pair are a bargain and the medium is a good size all round pit reel. Two people I know use them, one a very well known angler, the other a shop owner and both could have any reels they want but chose these.

Had a set of XT-A's for a while. Was going to replace them when i bought my Scopes but chucked them on instead. Cant fault them to be honest, just really nice reels.

I’ve got 3 of the BR 25a’s lovely little reels, play fish well on them and smooth action when reeling in. Never used the shimano ones you have on your list, but have got a pair of big 14000 xtb’s and can’t fault either the shimano or the Daiwa ones, so your on a good path to either one you get in my opinion!

Still 4 days for the Shimano Medium Baitrunner CI4+ XTR-A L lc deal

How do people rate the Daiwa Emblem BR 25A compared to the Shimano baitrunners?

Xtb Baitrunner is new a bit cheaper, read that the bail arm doesn't close automatically (no problem for me, I always close it manually) but seems the Xtr-a is the better choice.

I've got a pair of the med ci4 br you mention, brought them 2nd hand in great condition, so glad I did, lovely smooth reels.
If you still love the BR system buy them.

I’ve got a set of 3 of these Ci4 5500, toyed with the idea of selling them, but used them for a session after a while of not using them. They are so smooth, still love the baitrunner system and they are simply brilliant. Get them, look after them they will last a long time 👍

The 'A' versions are the top end models,I've got the largest ones, sublime reels but one now has the Shimano curse of drag clicker silence. No big deal.

I can buy a pair of Shimano Medium Baitrunner CI4+ XTR-A LC unused in the box for €350 (£296.97) going to be used mainly for channel fishing (I miss the baitrunner system)

How is the CI4+ XTR-A LC compared to and is the Xtr-a recommended?

-Shimano Medium Baitrunner XTB LC (also folding handle on the medium?)
-Shimano Medium Baitrunner Ci4 XTB LC

Also on the list: Daiwa Emblem BR 25A
