Yep, thats the one you need & allows you to fish across the country in most departments. Some don’t have a reciprocal arrangement but pretty much covers you all over France.

Hi, been going to France for the last ten years or so, but have always fished the same region and generally bought a holiday permit for that area, planning on doing a few more trips this year in multiple regions, dose the 'Carte Personne majeure ou Interfédérale' allow this or do i need to add different regions to it, tried reading the carte de peche website but couldn't work it out

I have been banging my head against this (insecure) website for over an hour now.

I have managed to register, and in the process discovered what UK is in French...

I am a little confused as it keeps asking me to select an association. I'm trying to buy a national license and strangely enough I am not a member of any French fishing associations...

I got to the payment page and was told of the impossibility of finalizing payment.

Has anyone managed to get it to work for a national permit? I really don't want to go poaching in France what with Brexit hostility and Macron's wasps buzzing about!

Out of interest does the 7 day holiday permit cover all departments or just the one you've bought it in and
If anyone's registering on the cartedepeche site for a license put your post code in last otherwise it won't have it

I'm off to a French river soon and have just got my French licence on-line. It was so easy to complete. you have to create an account first before filling in the appropriate boxes, a quick web cam pick, pay and job done. They then send one to your e-mail address for you to print off. Or pay €4 for them to send it to you. Mine arrived really quckly in the post in a nice little orange wallet. They do several licences. One cost about €80 which allows you to fish anywhere in france where permitted. The 2nd one is a yearly one for the specific area of fishing. They do a weekly one for 30 euros & a daily ticket for about 9 Euro if i remember. They even do an OAP ticket, one for juniors and one for women. I will always use this now as it will save me pissing around in the local tabaconist or fishing shop missing vital fishing time.
If your having issues with translating French into English, then download Google Chrome on your PC or LAPTOP and it will bring up a bar at the top of the page offering to translate the page into English for you.
Remember people to select the right area to fish and whether its for category 1 or 2. YOU WANT CATEGORY 2 to fish 3 or 4 rods.
Hope this helps

The "rules" dont often stipulate just carp...there are no other species allowed to be caught at night anywhere in France....at least until one of the more forward looking Federations changes that.

Fishing for any other species at night is poaching whatever baits you use. Ofcourse when fishing the public rivers and lakes, you inevitably catch a few BBC whilst carp fishing, but should not be a problem with the garde de peche...so long as you seem to be fishing for carp and the fish are not being kept for eating.

Even the odd Pike and Zander will take a boilie. One carp angler caught a 20lb plus Zander on a boilie from a local stretch last summer....
