I’ve had an amazing summer on both S2’s and the garlics, but it’s coming into single pop up time for me.
Do you have any plans for a coloured bait?

My hookbaits have arrived as well, I thought I was getting 1 wafter and 1 pop ups but they both seem very buoyant, Im not worried though. Do we need to keep them in the freezer ? Also can you do the S2 pink in a wafter version, there doesn't seem to be that option on you website?

The photo below is from 2015. It's white S2 freezer baits, made for me while I was fishing Englefield lagoon. I caught the fish below, fishing over ten of those. It had not been caught for a long time. I caught it first trip using them frozen S2. They were oddly shaped, because I did not need or want them round. Our hook baits go through a curing process. This happens five times. It would be financially unviable to try to apply this amount of work to an S2 freezer bait. There is not enough income, in a KG of freezer bait to warrant it. They do not need to be done five times though, they are not hook baits. Putting S2 freezer baits through our process twice, short term preserves them. Doing them three times, preserves them indefinitely. The ones in that bag had been 'done' just twice. The problem comes slightly, with doing this process on a much larger volume/scale than with hook baits.

The garlic pro biotic is slightly different being rolled as a free bait to the S2 though. It's so active, it needs to be frozen between fishing trips. They are still short term preserved. Putting them in and out of the freezer between trips is not a problem. They would easily last a couple of weeks in the sun, on a French trip for example.

We have had certain customers for a long time, who crush up S2 barrel bottom baits into a PVA bag while match fishing. Expensive and slightly crazy to me doing that with hook baits.... But I'm told it works amazingly well by those who do it.

We simply have never been in a position to be able to offer freezer baits Jamie. Or bulk liquids, anything like this. Time and space. So we have always concentrated on hook baits, solely. We have a very wide customer base now though, we sell to every bait companies customers, all over the country. We know from our customers, that they would love to be able to have S2 freezer baits, or a bottle of GPB1 liquid cure. So it would be crazy for us not to do it really. I had a very important meeting two weeks ago. It went very well indeed. That's where the video of the machine came from. I have another meeting in a week or so's time. We will have the space and the hands which we need, to be able to do all of this stuff soon.

As Ian said they should sink with a hook Matt. If you do get one hook bait which is to buoyant.... Simply trim a piece of cork from the outside of the hook bait. Where they have 5mm lumps of cork inside, it's quite simple to adjust buoyancy, by trimming a visible piece of cork. No need for putty etc, and you can get the exact buoyancy which you require. Takes seconds with a pair of scissors.

One of the very best things about out crushed corks, both balanced and pop ups, is the ability to change the buoyancy quite easily. Taking the top off of a 16mm crushed cork pop up with a serrated knife is a real winner. Fish it on a chod or SHR etc, with the flat side facing up. It improves the rig mechanics no end having a flat side, when they try to blow it out of their mouth with force. They so rarely see a 'chop' on a resetting rig. Fished over chops, it's a winner.

Had a little play with the 13mm I ordered recently they slowly sank and sat perfect with a Drennan super specialist barbel hook in a size 4 which is what I mainly use in the UK so I was happy with that, I haven't tried any other patterns yet that was the first one I like mine to sink without all the extra putty or tungsten beads they were spot on, I've yet to stick one out in the pond as I was waiting until after my trip to France at the end of this month but I'm popping out for a 24hr tomorrow so will be my first time trying out the hookbaits.

I'm sure someone on here will know this.. do the balanced gbp1 baits sink under the weight of a hook or do they require a little split shot like the s2 wafters

Hmm interesting. I thought I read somewhere once that you deemed it financially unviable to roll the S2 as a “feed bait” ?

This has interested me a lot. My eyes shall be kept open.
