Wires on Nash can be easy to damage as the clips are tight on the terminals - if you push your thumb and slide them off then its easy! Other than occasional battery recharges I leave mine wired up and only remove the handles to load the car - tippex on the controller / handle connection makes this easier to do and less likely to bend pins. I did a review on here when I bought mine almost 3yrs ago - its a great product IMO and I'd never go back to pushing anything ever again!

Good thread this as I’m looking to upgrade my MkII CP. Bought a van recently so now I want a power barrow, although it’s inconclusive as to which is best given all of the varied comments. Great to hear all the opinions so thanks to all who have contributed. As I had a CP barrow I’m leaning that way. One unappealing thing that stood out in the Nash Trax review from The Average Angler is all the wires for the batteries. Seems like someone needs to come up with a smart battery version, similar to when Carplounge made the step up to smart batteries in their V4 product.

Had my carp porter mk2 around 10 years not used much these days. But a great piece of kit. Balance it up correctly and its so easy to use. Cant see how it could be improved on.

I’ve actually done a little 10 minute review of the NashTrax (I love it) which may help you?

carp porter barrows are awful quality now, i have an original fatboy thats been going for 15 years its quality,,,,purchased another few years ago and the quality is nowhere near the same thinner metal weaker hinges , thinner paint , all joints and thumb screws are rusted , a mate has a power porter thats a few years old and thats the same bad quality

Does it form a tube to wrap around the cross brace between the handles?

I bit the bullet and got a mk 8 power porter.

There is a velcro badge "power porter". What, where does that go ❓

I think Im pretty well placed to answer this as I currently have a Power Xtreme and a nash trax metro power barrow - YES IM A TART

Ive written numerous reviews on here over the years and Ill start by saying once you have a power barrow youll never go back

Prior to this Ive been using power porter barrows for a number of years and had a mk 2, mk 5 and now the power porter xtreme - I also used to have a porterlite that I used for day sessions and brought the nash trax to replace that

This isnt a direct comparison between the two models as ultimately the xtreme can take a load more kit than the nash _ side bars, rear wheels as an example - panniers etc all make it a beast but Im not sure the pram style handles are a step forwards

As has been well documented there are a lot of haters for Nash regardless, similarly Prestige were renowned for terrible customer service but both have been fine in my experience dealing when Ive had any issues

However on reflection between the two brands in my experience my feedback is that the prestige are generally built better and the connections for the batteries are miles better with the Prestige - the Nash can be quite fiddly and if the pins bend youll be in big trouble - this isnt an issue for mine as I leave it assembled and wheel it in and out the van - similarly the wheel unit and battery for the prestige weigh a ton and Id hate to assemble it every time I went - despite both being 24v the Nash just pulls harder than the prestige and the battery housing is miles better on the Nash being centralised and the batteries dont weight a ton and are accesesible much easier than the prestige, likewise the motor being in the wheel is another plus for the Nash as well as the bags are better designed on the Nash and have much better useable space.

The Nash is a lot lighter on the whole and I use it without the rear wheels which can be added compared to the xtreme which come as standard but I wouldnt hesitate recommending the nash as its the one I tend to use more than the carp porter and Id happily buy the nash bigger version if it came up at a good price over the Prestige

For all that being said if I was buying again at full retail I would seriously consider the BCUK kit which a number of friends have and are very good bits of kit - however the longevity of dealing with a big manufacturer and 2 year warranty etc may sway me to stick with the big boys

Looking 👀 at the carp power porter mk8
I can't see on the specs if the wheels are "puncture proof"
(I've had to push my current carp Porter just under a 2/3rds of a mile with a flat single wheel, it was hard work)
