Hi All - to those that fish multis regularly, would you be confident leaving them out 24 hours +? Especially on waters with lots of nuisance fish? In terms of the potential for the loop pulling down at some point (appreciate it needs to be pulled on the hook to do this) - just after some views to help with my confidence with them

I have I used to use it on wide gap but don't rally bother any more find it works fine for me with a chod hook . I use the nash pin point choddies

I also have a good inch on the loop by the hook. I did find with a choddie smaller loops not doing so well

Have you tried using it for popups with a normal hook rather than a chod style hook? It works far better imo

Chod on pop up or wafter or a long shank on snowman or double bottom bait. Single bottom bait I use a wide gape

Yes i thought the mugga was a bit to aggressive and preferred the esp curve hook when i had a little play using wafters, it would be interesting to see what hooks others like.

As a pop up rig i've found aggressive curves muggas etc (which look wrong but work) and also chod style hooks both work very well and i much prefer the multi rig to a ronnie rig

I’ve found the trig hammers to be good. But also had good hook holds on Gardner muggas in the past although I’m not entirely convinced with how it looks with such a curved shank of the mugga.

Agree what it was touted for but having lost count of huge fish I have had on bottom baits and snowmen with it I see no need to change at all . Hook patterns o the other hand and overhand loop size 😉

I never said it didnt work. I said I don't see the point . It's all I use for popups. Used it for bottom baits, but prefer a simple knotless knot. It was first touted as a popup rig btw

It works wonders on a bottom bait and wafters. It is the only rig I use and it works for every style of bait goes nice on a snowman too. Hence its name multi rig

I know full well how to tie it,I've been using it for about 20 years... Just dont see the point of using it with bottom baits. A simple spotless knot is a far better choice for bottom baits imo

Actually works great with bottom baits. I make small braid loops that I put on the same as you would a rig ring but pull the multi loop down tight to trap it and create a kd type hair. Sits at a nice angle with good bait separation and you can change back to a pop up in seconds, also being doubled up is less prone to tangling than a kd

Definitely not just a pop up rig. I can't do links but there are 3 parts to the below, they show how to tie it and the different options you can achieve with it.

I can’t see how stripping the coating on the loop has any benefit tbh.
I use the multi with balanced hookbaits, tigers mostly, as the bait sits directly above the hook and masks it. The multi is versatile so you can use it with bottom baits too, you just need to adjust it slightly. For balanced baits I try to have a smaller gap between the hook and the knot of the loop than you would with a pop up.

I’m stripping the coating on the loop and trapping it with some silicon over the eye. Almost a slip d but with the benefit of being able to change the hook over. I’ve been using balanced baits and a small bag of various bits and bobs this year and moving on fish in the short time I get to go fishing this year and been doing ok.

Why would you want to use a bag with a popup? Free bait on the deck and hookbait waving about a few Inches above it doesnt make sense

I use a hook bead to lock the loop in place. No idea if it does work with pva mesh bags but in theory it should.

Simple solution to this problem and have done this for years to great affect. Use the multi alot In my fishing. Put a piece of 0.5 hook silicone onto he hook link either side of the hook. This traps the hook in place and stops it from slipping. Give it 1-2mm from the eye on both sides to allow the hook to sit naturally

If you thread them down the hooklink and then Bury the hook into the bottom it does not pull tight.

If you want to knick it on the mesh it will I have messed about with pva nuggets in the loop but don't bother now. Just use singles or thread it on

Tied one up last night using the esp semi stiff coated stuff and a size 5 trig hammer and I have to say it looks great! One thing is I’ve been using little mesh bags this year (casting at showing fish) and having a degree of success. I’m not sure I can do this with the old multi rig as it’ll pull the loop closed on the cast. I have thought of putting a small piece of foam nugget in the loop to keep the shape. Does this sound like a ridiculous idea to people? I was previously using the slip d but I have to say I really like the look of the multi rig.

I’m thinking of giving the multi a go as I like the simplicity and versatility of it. Do people literally tie a loop and pass the hook through I.e. no extra gubbins?

Can anyone recommend a very supple coated braid? Most my fishing this year is from a boat so not too fussed about anti-tangle, just don't like the idea of an uncoated loop on the eye.

The esp trig hammers are a nice hook to use on the multi.
As said don’t use a chod hook unless you’re using the stiff multi variation that’s been popularised in recent years.

I only use multis unless I put a zig or chod on. So versatile

Just tied one up using a size 4 kurv shank and it's alot better. Hook sits very aggressively but looks like it will work well.
What hook would you suggest?

I'm using size 6 korda chod hooks and 25lb hook link but even when doubled over the line is really slack through the hook eye!
Any ideas how to tighten this up? Just doesn't seem to hold well and slips through so easily or doesn't hold the d part.
