I really love TA,and his sons outdoors ,bushcraft video's,I find them very entertaining and I pick up lots of tips,to me ,it's all about the spirit of angling what ever aspect you are participating in. Terry, gets mentioned a lot, there are many others out there ,quiet people who who go about their angling in the way it was intended..

I have zero interest in many aspects of modern carp angling ,although I still eat sleep and drink it..however, words like wraps ,etc etc..leave me cold, the slow motion water pouring over 'anuvver' scaley banger..all this so called tribe speak that has appeared or metamorphic progression of silly language, its not great in my very ,very humble opinion..

Each to their own...it brings to mind what someone said to me once ,carp fishing has saved course angling from passing away, now its a monster perpetuated by monetary greed,it not even about the angling anymore..

Anyway ,make your own path,or mindset..thats what I've done,be an individual

I actually think TA Fishing is brilliant. always gives it a go and has totally the right attitude towards enjoying your fishing and getting stuck in.

I think the name was originally tongue in cheek though. hes an all rounder, by his own admission no expert, but does have some handy tips and realistically, I think his channels tackle specific video content is aimed at beginners. Things such as fixing the tip ring of a rod yourself, making leads, digging lug worms etc, and never extravagant. I think its a far more accessible watch than some carpers fishing on a dinner plate at 40 wraps with 600 quid rods and 500 quid reels, 700 quids worth of bankware, 600 quid bivvies etc that is aimed at the more experienced audience. the pullen guy is seventy and sleeps on a camp bed! not that he's poor mind has a huge house and decent bit of land in the hampiest of shires.

Also fond of "The Fish Locker" and "Carl & Alex", the latter two live about 20 mins from me so I recognise a lot of the venues.

I'd say Carl and Alex do an alright job of show casing the atmosphere where they fish, almost as good as Jack Reids stuff when he films Terry Hearn.

As someone who remembers Pullen from the dark old days of just one monthly coarse magazine, I sort of got where he was coming from re.. how modern carping as become, it’s his podcast so he’s quite free to espouse his views as are we all.
Whether we like it or not, angling is about how it touches the soul, that first fish, just being by the waterside, always looking at a piece of water just in case we spot something etc unfortunately a lot of the podcasts and a hell of a lot of anglers too, don’t manage to grasp that ethos, it’s the reason Terry Hearn is loved by all and sundry… he takes you there along with him, most podcasts and their guests just reel off a list of waters and fish they’ve banked soullessly.
If you are in need of something to listen to, I thoroughly recommend the Guru podcasts, I’ve never been a match angler but the excitement and memories these guys portray going back donkeys years really is great listening.
As for the Korda podcast new host, I’m not sure who could fill Simon’s boots, sure he seemed a bit wet but he engaged with the guests and coaxed out those little bits of info other’s probably couldn’t.

Believe it or not, I remember the first ever carp fishing podcast (i believe) to be released. It was a by a now defunct channel back in 2012. It featured Graeme Pullen (From the awfully named totally awesome fishing), who just spent two hours moaning about carp fishing. The second one was a chap who fished Euro Aqua, and the rights and wrongs regarding it's stocking and the falseness of it. Nether the less, the bloke had an impressive amount of visits there despite the cost involved and spoke in depth and with passion about the place.

The three hour format works, as it has done or the last ten years. I knew of Rogan when I was in secondary school, and used to watch his podcasts when they were streamed online via video. It was basically just three hours of abuse, dick jokes and Q&A's. I'd never thought it would evolve to where it is now, but it has. They are probably the only thing in life apart from fishing that i've held an interest in for the past decade!

Carp angling podcasts can have the same longevity, but it needs to evolve. In a years time, they are going to seriously struggle for content if they keep churning out the same names talking about campaigns which lacks any sort of depth. I've said it before on a different post, but I think the wind has changed in terms of what content people want. They don't want to know the in and outs of a ducks chad in regards to bait used to catch whichever pet is being discussed, they want to know about the twists, the turns, and the atmosphere. I guess that's why we still buy carpers books hands over fist.

And nash employ all the ones who stole other people's lunch money to buy cigarettes, so i guess it all cancels its self out.

Fox seem to have a recruitment policy to employ all the kids at school with no mates who had their sandwiches stolen every lunchtime. The less charisma the better.
