In reply to Post #7 After a bit of info on anyone who’s fished willows 1 & 2. Just looking for spots etc, fished b1 and b2 many times but never b3. Obviously tactics will be the same but just after any info on previous trips by others. I know the bailiffs will help but just nice to know before I arrive at the end of April.

Best way to check for availability as I’ve had no reply on carp bookings.?

In reply to Post #5 It’s nice easy fishing and nothing technical required
I just used a standard bottom bait and baited up with a throwing stick. Caught 50/50 carp and cats
You’ll have a great time and the food is great too
Like has been said already, it’s a silty bottom so the lightest lead you can get away with and my recommendation would be running rigs with flouro mainline fished towards the middle if you can

In reply to Post #1 I've done well each time I've gone anything works just there is deep silt light leads even if being g dropped from boat and I used at least 18 inch if not more hooklink.
I did well in nov on b2 using mainly maggots with crushed boilie and lots of liquid and on B1 using mainly boilie and liquid in April with less maggots and more boilie.
Pop ups wafters bottom baits don't matter they all work. Something small very small and yellow did most bites for me

In reply to Post #1 The bailiffs will give you up to date info when you arrive and put you on the hot spots. Yes just simple rigs to fish Bounty.

Evening all, I’ve gone with the kind advice on here and have booked a week in April on B2. As per the initial mail asking for recommendations, this is more about my boy than me; he’s a competent carper and I’m looking forward to him hauling, and maybe getting a couple of 30s - and perhaps his first catfish - under his belt.
So…time to pick brains. Is anyone willing to offer any advice based on their experience of previous trips? My research so far suggests that elaborate rigs and tons of bait won’t be necessary. Strong, simple bottom bait rigs + a quality boiler applied at ‘one bite at a time levels’ is what I’m thinking. Any suggestions? Cheers in advance.
