In reply to Post #35 Sorry to hear about the bad experience with TFT. I use Johnson Ross where applicable and cannot fault them. Sent back some Trakker trousers and Steve Neville alarm as I wanted to swap them. With covering letter, both items were swapped and they even waivered the postage & packing. Which is something they don’t do. Full credit to them.

I always check England Angling as Tim is a great bloke and great prices
and after Erics Angling packed up TFT is my normal port of call BUT I do check all of the online sellers
and of course check my Local store to see if they can come close to the price
As with all shops and especially the delivery company's your going to get the odd cock up but in the main TFT are up there with the very best IMHO

In reply to Post #33 Always had a really positive experience from TFT. I jumped the gun and ordered a set of rods prior to the Boxing Day sale, messaged them when I saw the deal and they honoured it for me and allowed me to use the 15% off code. 👍

In reply to Post #31 Ive used them a lot over the years with no issues whatsoever. Just purchesed a bivvy table and torch on Monday for it to come today using standard free delivery. From my point of view they are ace

In reply to Post #26 Hi Mozzi, your dream may have come true, albeit a long way away, but the setiment is there though a brandnew independent tackle shop has opened in Devon ,and another across the border in Cornwall just changed hands and is growing nicely..
We have two independent lure shops ,all this in an area where as before I had to travel literally hundreds of miles before the Internet or wait weeks for products to come..
Like you say,use your local shops or lose them,..its not always feasible to do that though..
(Oh yes ,I'd better add,I've used TFT,no complaints from me at all, very good service)...

In reply to Post #30 Ordered a bivvy and overwrap Wednesday and it arrived Friday so no complaints from me.

In reply to Post #29 Never had a problem with TFT I'm fortunate to live close enough to pick up rather than wait for Delivery.

Never had a problem so far. Have ordered end tackle, rods and a pair of 5500xtc reels of which were ordered Friday last week and came today as per postage selected.
Would and will gladly use TFT again and have a plan to get TX2's in 2.75 corks from them when funds allow

In reply to Post #23 But they don't do they....still why let the truth get in the way of a good slagging off opportunity...

I ordered a new sleep system before Xmas only to be told that despite showing as available on their website, it wasn't. To be fair they said immediately that I could have a refund or wait two weeks for new stock to arrive. I waited two weeks and the new item turned up.
So not a great experience but I liked the way they resolved the issue.

In reply to Post #20 I get it isn't doable for everyone but local shops can sometimes price match and cant really get away with fobbing you off, nor do they usually want to.
I do wish one day we could get back to the local fishing shops of old, run by anglers and with an individual feel, but I think the way the sport grows and how unbelievably vast tackle selections are now means that will never happen. I reckon you'd need at least half a million to set up a decent well stocked shop, accomodating all the brands people want
Sorry to reminisce, hope you have better experiences with the next company

In reply to Post #3 Sent two things back last Thursday was refunded for both on the Friday.
Never had anything but exceptional service from TFT.

In reply to Post #20 Nash should provide 3 tip sections for every scope, just to be sure. The original will always snap.

Just read all the posts in this thread, it amazes me how much trouble people are having with new items of tackle, it seems us anglers are just being sold a pile of sh1te!!

In reply to Post #6 I've bought bits of stuff regularly off them, mostly through ebay and never had any difficulty. Not really expensive stuff as that mostly goes through JR, but yes no issues for me.

I used to pretty much exclusively use them for my bigger bits of tackle as they used to be decent and always a good price. They will never see a penny of my money again though.
Fancied a full scope set up so ordered a load of stuff off them through eBay as the prices were slightly cheaper than their website? Wasn’t thousands and thousands of pound but about £1500 worth. Got the tracking details and was told it was delivered but it wasn’t. Checked the tracking and it had been delivered to Onger (where they’re based) messaged them and all they kept sending me was the tracking details. Explained that if they actually checked the details they would see I haven’t had my stuff delivered. I was chasing them for updates and was ignored for weeks and weeks. Both emails and eBay messages were ignored.
In the end I left negative feedback and opened up a dispute with eBay. Literally within minutes of doing this I had 2 people from TFT messaging me on eBay trying to sort it out. They said the parcel for some reason had “gone missing” (even though the tracking shows it was delivered back to them) and they would get my order sent straight back out but unfortunately a couple items were now out of stock and I could pay a bit more for an alternative or have a refund. I chose a refund and was told my parcel will be with me the next day. Surprise surprise no parcel turned up and I had another week or so of ignored messages until I get a message telling me the parcel is ready to go but they are waiting for me to tell them what I wanted to do about the out of stock items? I told them that I’d already said I wanted a refund and was told that’s fine and parcel will be with me the next day and that now this was getting beyond a joke and to just refund me for the whole order and I’d get it all somewhere else. Another amount of time went by without any contact or refund so I message them again and actually got a reply fairly quick saying they are still waiting for me to tell them what they want me to do? I mean I don’t know how much clearer I could of been with saying I want a full refund 😂 by now it was a Wednesday and I had a trip planned for the Friday and wanted to use my new stuff so said to them if they can get my stuff to me by Thursday I’ll have it but if not I want a refund. Stuff came the next day
I’m now blocked from buying anything off them on eBay 😂😂
Now I finally had my new rods and reels etc I was happy, short lived though as one of the scopes snapped on a cast (not TFT’s problem as they don’t make them) so I messaged them about it and they told me to contact Nash as it’s a manufacturer issue. Contact Nash and they say I have to go through the shop as that’s the point of sale and they know this as Nash don’t deal direct with the public 🙄 go back to TFT and tell them Nash said they have to order the replacement the replacement tip and Nash will send it to them and they send on to me and that they have that tip in stock. TFT say no problem and they’ve ordered it and will have it the next day and they will send it straight out so I’ll have it the day after and that they are sorry for all the agg I’ve had with this order. A few days/week go by and guess what? No new tip section. Various un replied messages go by so I decided to ring Nash again and surprise surprise Nash say they haven’t ordered any spare tip sections. Various messages sent again with no reply’s then out of the blue a while later a tip section turns up
That’s enough to make me never hand over any money ever again

Always found them great to deal with.
Although this isn't any solace to O.P's situation, they're on limited staff and are flat out. The amount of sales they do is mind blowing, all of that bundled together and there will unfortunately be problems here and there.
I too dislike not being able to call up. I should ask them next time for the reason as to why; my initial thoughts on this would be the high volume of calls and halfwits rattling on about Berners was probably the catalyst why they knocked the calls on the head.
They're a decent bunch and from what I've seen, they do their level best and that they're polite. Something that people should be aware of is that where they're situated, it gets flooded loads, so delays when there's heavy rain is inevitable.

In reply to Post #15 Always had excellent service at competitive prices . Unfortunately there will always be the odd occasion with most companies where things don’t go to plan . I hope everything works out for you .

In reply to Post #1 I must say over the years, I've bought loads from them - sets of rods, sets of reels, bivvys, alarms, etc, etc. Always a good service, always quick to respond on the messaging. And the prices are excellent. The only issue I had was with a reel out of a set of three, contacted them, got a return label, sent it back, got a replacement. All sorted pretty painless.
I'd say your issue is just one of the few "minor" issues they have, like any company. Probably down to many reasons - holiday period, sales, covid, brexit, suez canal crisis, Donald Trump, parties at no 10 during lockdown ......... They are OK, as you can see by the number of people who have no problems.

In reply to Post #3 I’ve always had a top service from them, even when I’ve sent thing back they sorted it very quickly

In reply to Post #12 Fully expected with the tackle box prices though. Premium prices, you expect a premium service

We’re great with my nash r3 returns twice. Personally one I prefer. Tackle box is up there with the best

And youve already raised this issue on the other thread

In reply to Post #3 Ive had to return a few things, thinking anglers quiver where the sowing machine had missed one side of the lower pocket so it fell apart, and a solar bedchair as the toggles on the bag and the cover didnt line up correctly. Not having a phone line was a pain, but both got sorted quick enough. I also had a solar net mesh come apart at the seam for no reason and they sorted a replacement out for that, without having to return the original net.
They are super busy, obviously due to the prices, but i know this when i place an order, so i would tolerate a few minor issues.
But in terms of delivery theyve always been spot on

In reply to Post #7 The message service actually works really well

In reply to Post #7 I miss Eric's for deals.

In reply to Post #1 I bought stuff off them with no real dramas but dont like the fact they no longer have a phone line to call
every company has the occasional cock up its not a perfect world we live in they do really good deals too

|
|
In reply to Post #1 Bit worried about this - bought a bedchair bag (for storage) in the sale and after several weeks wait it turned up new and boxed but with a hole in it!
Asked for a returns form and they only cover £7.50 for return post (which would not have covered the weight plus insurance) so after moaning and taking graffs they've sent a post paid slip . . .
Really want a replacement so fingers crossed they've got one in stock to return!
|
|
|
In reply to Post #3 Only 1 thing a couple of years ago, they sorted it quickly. They can't replace it if they have no stock,it's going to be like this for a while.I think with Brexit and Covid the next 12-18 months are going to be a nightmare

I bought an avid a spec chair for a show off them and it basically fell apart within a year not even that... Well avid were useless didn't want to know at all even though I had proof of purchase etc. So I got in touch with tft and they got the chair picked up and got it fixed and back to me within two weeks. Tft used to have better sales though.

In reply to Post #2 Have you ever sent anything back ?

|

In reply to Post #1 Always had superb service from them and are very competitive on prices

Without doubt the worst online tackle company I have even dealt with !!
So these bandits sent me a faulty item after waiting for two weeks for delivery and obviously i send it back straight away !! They agreed it was faulty and told me the item is on back order and would be weeks before a replacement was stocked ! With this i refused and asked for refund. So currently today after waiting it out I have had to raise a PayPal dispute just to get my money back.. please use tackle2go or some other company as I wouldn't want other to have the same issue as me..
