Nemesis, totally agree. Those migrating carp caught in GL from the river are just, truly amazing. Id love to go there again but the bank side enviroment is just to lively to consider it now days. Gear being nicked, violent confrontations.....na. lifes to short and theres plenty of others in France worth a visit. not many as good as there though, especially in spring with those river migrations.

Justin_time.......still waiting !

LV is also very busy now, more so after a certain video came out a couple of years ago. English cars being targeted in the parking areas. Such a shame as there, GL, M etc contain the most magnificent wild big carp in amazing surroundings.

I had night time issues on GL and would think twice about visiting now as I am 25 years older than when I last visited. Lots of other venues available without the hassle. I had a group of youths crossing the road bridge singing and chanting anti English crap whilst there. I chose to ignore (ish) and was Nat hassled further.

its always been a very 'lively' place at night, even back when Ive been there. Certainly wouldnt fish it alone and even now, I wouldnt fish it at all. Serious local issues. Id heard, years ago after an angler confronted some locals trying to steal his stuff, they came back and set his bivvy on fire with him in it.

Lots of night time movement - visits. Not for me. Id be very careful if you were considering going.

Unlikely to hear names of those park lakes as many have suffered fish nicking over the years. The public park lakes the thread is alluding too are rock hard but worth a go. Dodgy at night...EEs, gypsies and lots of kids doing what kids do these days!

Yep, Just clicked the one and two star reviews on trip adviser.

Not interested in the waters themselves, but am interested in public park lakes as a whole next year.

G.L. is the one, historically too. Produced the goods for years. V. Dangerous place to fish though
