Nice one thanks for the adivse guys, was just playing about with my rigs in my solid bags see what worked. I’ll go back to the simple hair rigs I reckon from what everyone is saying.

Agreed, a big wide gape hook and a small hookbait on a simple knotless knot is all I use. My thinking is that it likely all gets sucked up on one go and the pellets etc hide the large hook lying flat under a small wafter.

Size 6 wide gape, hair trapped with a bit of hook silicone, ESP brown anchor braid and a small 8-10mm match wafter/ single grain of corn etc

Slip D is unnecessary in a solid bag, just a knotless knot will do you with a wide gape or curve shank hook.

I don't use a slip D but have tied them up, if I did I'd use a piece of foam pinched around the back of the hook over the point to stop this, it could also mean you've been done over by a fish I'd guess

Tied up a few slip d rigs the other day to try while using wafters in a solid bag, and also a bottom bait topped with a small pop up snowman style. Both times when I reeled my rig in the slip d part of the rig was all twisted around the shank. Is this a common problem or is there something I’m doing wrong when tying this rig?
