I'd go with either The Mill or Blasford Hill, Blasford being my first choice.

Blasford hill is a really nice lake off Broomfield Road 👍🏻

Agree with above, The Mill is a nice water. Fish there myself. You could also look at the A12 Cutton lakes in Chelmsford , which are decent for a day, although it can get a bit noisy from the road. Not a hard water and most fish you get from the end lake are going to be over 20.

The mill one of Essex Carp syndicates waters is a day ticket water.
It’s a lovely lake with some stunning fish ( it can get booked out )
Dave the bailiff will give you some good advice .

Any decent options for a day water? Not bothered about 30’s but would like to stay away from pasties and low/mid doubles
