I can’t comment on the essential , but sometimes re boil bait on the lake to “open them up “
Works for me in theory , don’t know if I really makes a difference

Hi Everyone,

Ive just recently had to go from frozen to shelf life bait due to a house move and ive also just purchased a load of essential bait. Now im no bait expert but Im trying to get the most out of my bait as never used shelf life.

The essential shelf lifes are extremely hard which are great for a throwing stick but Im wondering if doing a bit of heat treatment or pre soaking in water will help speed up the leak off process?? I didnt want the baits to go too soft as my venue is a nightmare for bird life and would rather not spod.

I was thinking of soaking the baits for 5 mins in hot water then using the matching food liquids. Has anyone else got experience with these shelf lifes?? Im a one night a week angler so just trying to get the most out of short sessions.

Thanks in advance!!!!
