Can't put a price on carp protection

I realise that lines like this are part of modern angling .... but I still find it strange to read

I agree. Can't put a price on carp protection and not too bothered about it being so large even when compact. To be honest I've watched a ton of videos of various mats/cradles and cribs and the ones that do compact down a lot don't look overly fish friendly. At the moment I'm undecided between the Oval Crid XL and the Sanctuary XL Cradle.

I have one of these and although it is big when packed it is a very good mat, hard to beat in fact for protection if your lake dictates the use of a walled mat. it is lightweight so apart from the bulk it is fine on a barrow..

I did the same. My syndicate uses them and it pretty much takes up more room on a barrow than the rest of my gear combined. I sold the one i had after one use. Had various mats after that but the thinking anglers one is decent. No sides though

What do you use now as on the look out for fish protection? I fell asleep and missed the deadline for ordering. 🤣

They are massive in the bag like the size of a bivvy I had the normal green trakker version in the past couldn’t believe the size of the box when it turned up I thought it was a bivvy at first used it once and sold it

They are very well padded and the walls are fairly high keeping the fish safe but as you say very big. They do fold length ways and go into a bag so that does help.

Let's be honest If your taking a load of gear it's not really going to make much difference on the barrow but if your trying to fish light and compact it's deffinetly not the best option.

Hope this is OK to put up but just got an email from Angling Direct offering the Trakker DPM Oval Crib at £89.99 until midnight tonight. Has anyone got one of these (not necessarily the DPM) and would they recommend it. I know some people think that it's a bit on the big side when packed but with 90cm foam padding underneath, looks great for fish protection.
