But are they identical mechanically. Is it just cosmetics that determines the difference between the two.

Don't really know much about the Shimano big pit reels. What's the difference between the XTD and the XSD apart from cosmetics. Are there any other differences? If the only difference is the cosmetics, would I be right inassuming that this would apply to all aero techniums?

Such a simple thing as a spool clicker design on later shimano big pit reels proves they have gone backwards

Agreed 👍

I think that the use of black and silver is to denote their top tier equipment, like the XTR pasts for instance. I'd have much preferred for Shimano to to the same as the last version but just added the new technologies they've come up with, would have looked so much better in my eyes, but hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder right?

Why would they want to release an inferior product? Shimano don't go backwards as far as I'm aware?

I think the XT 10,000 would be the one to re-release for a storm at the tackle shops.

SS3000’s with modern but robust internals, if that’s possible! They’d sell them at £500 plus no problem. Agree on the 12000’s also. Will never happen sadly
