In reply to Post #31 I’ve witnessed the same. I don’t like to say it but the EEs are responsible for terrible littering, not so much their anglers but their outside socializing.

Have to say the Ee's are terrible for leaving litter and crap, all daytickets now stopped on my fenland river club, and literally hundreds banned over the last 10years or more, the Eastern lads who are club members absolutely hate them for the trouble caused.
That's not to say we don't have plenty of homebred scum, but in this case they are v much in the minority.

In reply to Post #27 Not just Eastern Europeans mate, the English “visitors” to the valley are just as bad.

In reply to Post #26 I’ve fished in and around the Lea valley for years, the only problem I’ve come across is the rubbish left by the Eastern European crew, absolutely disgusting. Seen it when bins have been literally next to their chosen picnic spots!
Apart from that I’ve found it to be lovely 😊

In reply to Post #21 Hi, I've been fishing the Turn Ford consortium waters for a few years, and the main problem more recently was in lockdown when locals treated the swims like picnic areas. Not aware of any issues with cars, and the only thefts have been the odd distance sticks when left at the back of your swim overnight on the road/path banks. It goes in short spells, a few nicked then all quiet for ages.

In reply to Post #23 It goes through spells of aggro.
I never had my car or company van damaged, but I always made sure fishing tackle was not left in plain view in there.
A bit strange, as I also walked around the lakes or walked or drove into Hoddesdon to Sainsbury or Johnson Ross for bits and pieces and left my gear on the bank with no problems, nothing ever went missing.
Some swims you can park in your swim on the Central, others are a long walk. Long Island, Ratties, and the bower swims on the join between the 2 lakes, or Pylons on the South are the longest walks.
The North, again some swims you can park behind, others get ready for a walk
Always worth walking around, gives you an idea of what you are facing.

In reply to Post #22 I was hoping chatting on here about it might reduce my need to go and do that!
I have a genuine concern for my cars safety in that area too.. also - is it mega far to walk from the car with all your gear?
