Certainly not DMPT. Been around for years and it’s effectiveness is open to debate. Concentrations that could draw fish in from range would be counter productive at the area it was introduced.

In reply to Post #72 Interesting! I have, when I used to night fish that is, rocked up at the lake with the intention of doing the night, caught one before dark and simply gone home. Everyone thought I was mad.

In reply to Post #73 This. I've only caught 8 carp this year and believe me if they're in front of me a fifty wouldn't stop me getting the rod back out 😂

In reply to Post #64 If you've waited weeks for a fish and suddenly their having it. You would be a fool not to get the rod back out asap. Unless you know recasting would spook the fish off your remaining rods.

In reply to Post #70 Thanks guys, I'm glad it's not only me feeling that a big one in the net is mission accomplished and time to simply chill, I know only too well that on some waters one bite is many months fishing so that feeling is very much enhanced, the thought of a chance of another one is irrelevant in that situation. Maybe some (many) have not experienced this side of angling thus far though I hope one day they do as it is well beyond a numbers game.
Btw, I'm in no way bashing Kev or any of the others that do well, from what I know they are decent guys that excel at their hobby probably with or without any secret edge..

In reply to Post #69 thank heavens that still exists. I can think of nothing worse really than having a 40 in the net and my first thought being "must get the rod out......". To me it's everything that's gone wrong with carp fishing over the last 30 years.
not questioning Kev Hewitt at all, sure he's a perfectly nice chap and clearly a very good anglers, but I totally agree that why are we bothering even going if you don't get a chance to marvel at a truly amazing fish in your net - most anglers I know would be too shaken by the event to just carry on fishing, they'ld want a fag and a brew to get their heads together.
horses for courses I guess, just find it all a bit sad.

In reply to Post #63 those days aren't gone at all mate, on my sindicate its often like that, if someone lands a biggy most of the anglers reel in to have a look and a congratulatory brew.

In reply to Post #67 I think people believe it's just the few anglers who have been named who are using this stuff, they are just the ones who want or need the publicity from catching continually. Any angler who has been involved with the carp march fishing scene will know this product exists and you can bet your last pound that at least some of them have taken it back to their regular waters.
Problem is I don't think the water owners care, it's good publicity for their waters of people are seen catching lots of fish, however they are doing it. Money talks I'm afraid.
