Hi Mate, last I heard it was up for sale. Not fished it for ages but when I did it was the same as ever - noisy, busy, etc. For a social I'd be more inclined to look at the The Mill day ticket lake (in that area at least), depends on how many of you there are though.

Got to agree with the road noise, its a bit quieter on the opposite bank but if the winds blowing in from the road your going to need ear plugs.

I used to live near Stansted Airport (Takeley) and have fished a couple of waters close to it (Forrest, Laundry, etc) - the aircraft noise is nothing compared to fishing a water next to a busy dual carriageway. I've done Cuton and yes, very noisy from the A12. Nice enough waters mind, but not really my cup of tea - too many little wannabes in hoodies doing Essex Geezer impressions for my tastes... there's nicer places to fish than that in the Chelmsford area. Oh, if you want proper noisy, try Cawcutts next to the A14 in Cambridge! Good grief, that's bad.

I live very close and lakes are fine to fish at the moment. But as stated the road noise in pretty bad. Before it was a day ticket people used to park in the lay-by to fish, that’s how close it is. I often walk
The dog along the chelmer and it seems to be quite a social day tickets if you know what I mean.

A mate fished there recently, he said it was nice and peaceful.

But only for 2 hours, while they closed the A12 both ways because of an accident

I have never been there but mate has had a few nice fish from there.

Your basically on the hard should mate, as i said not for me when im fishing. I wouldnt want to do the night over there. There are better day tickets close by, The Mill or Blasford Hill are two id rather go to

Ive just measured it, on the road bank your 25 meters from the road

Very busy road is the A12 and your right next to it .
Far better day ticket waters IMO
The mill lake ( Essex carp syndicate ) is one worth checking out.

I fish a lake that is on the turning circle for airplanes at Stan stead airport
You can block it out after a while and it doesn’t affect you at all

Fished it a couple of times over the years.

Fishing is ok but being literally next to the A12 the noise is not for me
