When rolling boilies. Some people say the oil carries particles around the water column and the fish find them etc etc but imo that's nonsense.if you want to add a liquid then something which will cloud the water a bit would be my choice. Something like condensed milk would be a good start

Carp can't detect oils so they offer nothing in terms of attraction, their benefits come when ingested so chucking them in loose feed is a waste of money

I’m definitely going to get some vitalin. I’m using goat mix at the moment and I have to add flour to ball it up. I think vitalin, sweetcorn and hemp would be irresistible to carp. Is it worth adding a liquid to the mix like hemp oil or is that not even needed.
Is there an alternative cheaper liquid attractant than hemp oil? I’ve heard some people say sunflower and salmon oil are good.

Agree with what many have already said on this thread, big sacks of vitalin and pigeon conditioner and cheap to buy and easy to prep. If got access to a cab and carry it such like to buy big tins of sweetcorn to add to the mix and give it a bit of colour can help but if you haven’t buying big bags of uncooked maize and cooking yourself is a great and cost affective alternative. Any large pet stores should supply all of the above making it easy to get your hands on. Add water to the vitalin in a bucket until it becomes damp enough to form into balls but not squeezed too tight it goes like concrete. Add the other ingredients and can make a very cheap alternative to buying bags of groundbait and it’s very easy to throw out. If baiting up further out is fine to fill a spod or spomb as loosefeed and get out to desired area. Vitalin clouds the water up being used as it is but can easily take on added flavours and colours to give it and extra boost but it’s so good this isn’t really needed👍

Pellets.......you can use them or not use them, they don’t need to be prepared, cost effective......no carp ever refuses them

It depends really. Some places things like vitalin , pigeon conditioner,hemp etc , others purely boilies. Lots of variables to consider, stock, other species ,time of year etc etc . There's no right or wrong answer

Vitalin is a mix of flaked maize, oats, meat and bone meal. You look at it, and it looks like a dry groundbait😉
It only needs water adding, mixing, letting soak in for around 15minutes, and will then ball up nicely.
If you add particles with the juice like pigeon conditioner, you can add them in exactly like the water.
It still balls up nicely, and can also be moulded around the lead and hookbait like a Method groundbait.

Vitalin is a brilliant bait, and balls up really well so perfect for what you want. Other brands may be ok, it depends on what's in them really. But vitalin is cheap as chips so no need to look anywhere else really
